chem's... delayed resin maturity?

I'm growing a cross with a chem og in the mix, plants/blooms have a good classic chem structure to them.
samples taken at 50 days are less than impressive compared to others in the room. its good but nothing to write home about.
someone posted this in my thread

** like most of the chem's, make the mature resin only in the late flowering, when you see 80% of red pistills, and u can see it usually only after the 60day of **

fewQs how long do chems run in flower?
does resin potentcy ramp up later in bloom, 60s as was posted?

the 3 plants are georgeous,
hitting 10s across the board except for the potentcy.
of course we've all seen this before unfortunately but
I'm wondering about what was said about delayed resin maturity

my ChemD dominant Chemdog double d (chemD x sour diesel Ibl) has a really large harvest window between 8 to almost 12 weeks. but anything before 8 weeks 56 days flowering yeah probably won't be up to its potential. also depends on the OG mixed with it, what ever else is mixed in with it, and your phenotypic selection will all determine when to harvest for your taste. but most OG goes a good 9-10 weeks, there's a good amount of Sativa in both chem and OG so i would suggest 60 -70 days for sure

but they should be real frosty by day 50 just not what they can be as far as smell taste and potency. try letting go longer and or another Pheno.

peace,
Infi

For Chems and SDs I like between 70 - 80 days for perfect ripeness.

peace,

thanks for chiming in inf.
what your saying is spot on about smell-taste -potentcy

I have 3 pheno's and all are looking top shelf @50 days
plenty of frost and getting milky heads,
its just the potentcy is not there,
its good, tested @50days its about a 7
but not up to the chem standards from what I expected,
flavor is bland too.
they are pretty low odor unless you feel em up.
but if these bad girls can get A LOT more potent in the next 2-3 weeks then thats another story and I'll be a happy camper.
for me they are scoring 10s across the board except those 3 things.

so 50 days isn't really a yardstick to begin to measure these is what I'm hearing.
at 50 days everything Ive ever done is a prime indicator
of whats coming down the pike
the chems seem to run on a different compared to other gear

here's a few pics of my sunmaidens

the temps in your room at the canopy level, the distance between your growing tips and your bulb, and even the spectrum of light you use can all have a large impact on smell and taste and to some degree potency. keeping your canopy under 76f*, keeping your buds a good 1-3 feet from your light depending on your wattage, and using blue spectrum lighting all increases and creates more complex terpenoids while also causing less to evaporate so you end up with better smelling and tasting stuff. as long you dry and cure it nice and slow of course. And if none of that improves the smell or flavor over your next run, if you take cuttings and re-run your stuff, then unless you really love it for it's effects you might think about culling it and trying to find another phenotype. thats the great thing about growing from seed, their all individuals.
stuff does look pretty good though, what strains it exactly?

hi tesimal...
its gage greens sunmaiden.... Grape Stomper x Chemdawg OG

I'm also running 2 other strains of theirs and at 50 days the ones that were hittin peeled your scalp back for ya...
I think these 3 sum maidens are just duds in the potentcy dept, I can see the dramatic leap in potentcy needed to put any of them into keeper status in an extra couple weeks.

I haven't read anywhere when someone who has run a chem og came in and says
his were soso @50days and 75 they were killing it

Not sure about Chem crosses, but I have the Chem D clone and she doesnt look good IMO until atleast 7 wks in. She starts to really look nice at 8 wks and at 9-10 weeks she is ready and floors EVERYONE who smokes her. So IMO let them go atleast 9 wks and them see what you think.

Who smokes a chem at 50 days? Don't worry about how it looks or smokes at 50...take it ten weeks and if it still sucks , get rid of it
