Tax Time! Got Yours Done?

As is my wont, I'll be filing the 4868 extension. What about you?

Today's sticky tax teaser...

Everyone knows about cash and accrual accounting methods, but do you know what third method (approved by IRS) is?

income taxes are such a bullshit scam.....its ridiculous that someone who only makes 30-40k a year has loses up to 10 percent of their income to taxes...on top of having to pay 10% tax on all purchases...3 grand to someone who makes 30k is a whole months worth of salary, its a huge hit on personal finances...its like we are in the matrix and our sole purpose is for our government to milk us for taxes..

that being said i mailed out my tax check like a limp dick sheeple peon, too scared of the IRS putting liens on my properties....lol. i saw the IRS paperwork they sent my friend for skipping out on paying taxes on 200k worth of cash deposits..not trying to get on their radar..

I'm paid up.

I was hesitant at first, but then I looked down the barrel of Uncle Scam's 45 and was reminded that the fruits of my labor are needed to pay for his security detail's Colombian hookers and cocaine, and more bombs to blow people up.

I obliged the man. For now anyway.

I read somewhere that if you file later, you have that much less of a chance of being audited due to the higher number of filings....but who knows.

I think the first scenario is subject to payroll tax. They're getting a temporary break on federal income tax because so many are in poverty and or within the threshold of the poverty line. A big percentage of this demographic is seniors and children.

Remember when Reagan campaigned on supply-side economics? At the same time he was campaigning that the bus driver was paying 10% of his wages while the rich were skirting their patriotic duty yada yada.

At the same time, even conservative commentators were admitting there was no such thing as "supply side economics". The term was an intellectually dishonest trick to sell the idea of lowering the marginal rate to the general electorate.

Thirty-plus years later, there's nothing to show for the big lie but a 300x transfer of wealth to the top.

If you happen to be making a million a year, you're really getting screwed. That's because you still don't make enough to get the loopholes the richest 400 Americans bought for themselves.

Mark Halperin said it on Morning Joe, the Democratic party's greatest failure is it's inability to sell tax fairness to the general public. (That's bull shit, as many as 72% of Americans support the Buffet rule.)

Another thing Halperin didn't mention is Republican leaders' ultimate naked emperor... the idea that deregulation and tax cuts create jobs.

If you keep voting for the guys who gut your system, you'll pay more for less in municipal taxes and contracting economies.
