100MH with no ballast?
Hello,
I'm vegging some little ones and was wondering, can you/is it safe to run a 100w metal halide with no ballast? It's a standard e26 bulb. I thought I have seen people do it before. Thanks |

Nope. All MH and HPS lights, even the 35w and 70w ones, need a ballast to fire up and run. It doesn't have anything to do with the size of the bulb base.

Thanks for the quick response and sorry mine was so slow. I wanted to post some pics to go with my post but pussied out. I got a balast so hopefully I can just keep the temps down now.
I've got some third or fourth gen gg#3's going and the HID is going to help! Also trying to germ some SOL Blue Sat X Jamaican Pearl seeds that got a little moldy last season...any suggestions??? Trying to use a drop of bleach in the water, it keeps the mold away but out of a hundred maybe still no survivors. |
