growing spice in the northern us
Hello,
Based on the order I just submitted to Dr. Chronic, I will be growing spice this summer among other strains. Can any growers tell me about this strain? I miss the strain guide of overgrow...perhaps there is one here somewhere... Thanks in advance for the words |

Spice Seeds from Mr Nice
Grower reports: 1 Viewed: 26,012 times Rated by 1 user: 5.57/10 'Spice' from Mr Nice Lineage: Hawaiian indica x Hawaiian sativa Family: Unknown or mixed family Origin: Not Listed Region: Not Listed Genotype: Mixed, Indica / Sativa Indoor Maturation: 50 to 55 days Outdoor Maturation: Oct 15 to Oct 31 Sex Possibilities: Standard (M/F) Stature: Not Listed Yield: Not Listed Odor Level: Not Listed Odor Description: Not Listed Taste Level: Not Listed Taste Description: Exotic fruity taste Breeder's Description - 'Spice' [ VIEW FULL BREEDER REPORT ] She is bubbling with rapid growth and well endowed ear as her name suggests. Her pedigree has blossomed out of the union of a Hawaiian indica x Hawaiian sativa and is a stable hybrid that no curry eater can live without. Don't knock our Nice Spice until you have grown her to maturity. She is definitely better than the one that left; we have created our own Nice Spice. Expect yields of around 480-600 g/m2 for indoor growers, with tight nuggets. Expect an indoors harvest between 7-9 weeks, indoors. Outdoors in the northern hemisphere harvest by October, and in the southern hemisphere by May. Taste Level: 5 Taste: Smooth slight undertones of sweet fruity/spicyness. Grower's Tilt: 6 Sexes: Standard (M/F) SI Rating: Not Listed Vintage: January, 1 I started a pack of Spice and had horrible germ rates. Out of 16 seeds only 3 germed after trying every trick in the book to help them along. I chalk this up to just bad luck though, the seeds are at least 3 years old so its ok. I have ordered another pack to give it another try. Out of those three seeds two were females and one was a male. The two ladies were similar in appearance through veg and did quite well. They had really nice looking light lime green leaves that looked very different from everything else around. I repotted twice and they ended up going into flower at about 12 inches in a two gallon pot. In flower they screeched for about the first week and a half but then really started to flower quickly. After week two they were starting to put out a ton of white hairs and were really looking nice. This is a fast developing strain, after its initial stretch into several long branches the buds start to fill them in well until you have three or four good spears. The smell on pheno 1 was sweet at first and then as it matured it got more like rotten fruit and kinda acidic and dieselish. Pheno 2 started out very bland with almost no smell at all. I had initially written this off but as it matured the smell improved quite a lot. When I rubbed the buds the resin smelled mild but like fresh fruit. Neither was very pungent or super resinous but both had a nice smell and structure. Smoke was balanced not to indica not to sativa. The taste was not very pronounced as expected but did have slight undertones of the smell and both were very smooth on the taste buds. Overall I am not blown out of the water with spice but in reality I only tried two plants and of those two neither was bad by any means. I picked up another pack and I am going to try it again someday. I think that one could get some really nice plants if you were able to grow out more plants............NW Garden Information for this report Bloom Wattage Used: 2100w to 5000w Average Plant Height: 36 Plants per Sq. Hi all
not great to hear about the germination levels of spice you talked about. Where did you get that seed from if you do not mind me asking? Also since 16 or 17 seeds are put into a packet did you only get 15? Would be nice to understand a few things so noone else has to get a problem or to see if someone is selling old stock. Thanks and all the best Shantibaba

these were germed at same time as you can see the spice is on the right and they are much stronger than nirvanas bubblegum on the left Last edited by wickedpete66; 03-09-2006 at 07:33 PM.. |

Hi
well it is not the norm to get such a low germ rate especially from Spice as it is usually jumping out of the ground quickly. But if you feel that the plants you get are not what you are looking for then pm me and we could sort it out so you would not loose out.All the best Shantibaba

Shanti, can I pull this strain off in my bog buckets...most grow season, hard frost comes the first week of October.
By the way, I grew out Early Queen a few years ago and really liked it. Strange though: it started out so euphroric and clear, but in the cure it became increasingly heavy and narcotic. I may try this one again if you think spice is a bad move. Going with the Dr. is that old stock? Last edited by oldsterone-OG; 03-13-2006 at 01:06 AM.. |

Hi all
Doc has good stock of all things including some special releases so my stock with him and GN and several others is all good and guaranteed. Do not know too much about the bog buckets but Spice should be fine in them. Frost can hurt so EQ would be a definitive strain for such a climate as well. Hope all is working out good ...keep me informed all the best Shantibaba
