Three years is plenty of time to release a few strains. It seems this project is on hold or something.

Definitely seems odd that there is no word of progress yet.
I am wondering if it has anything to do with the Dutch toughening up on seeds/growers

Not a hater of GH like many but this is baloney about the landraces. If they are releasing anything in pure landrace form it is not a priority. their priority is using the landraces to make hybrids with hybrid vigor.

I don't get it. Strain Hunters travel all over the world and they don't release landrace seeds?

It's been a while.
It would be nice if someone from the gh crew would chime in......
Worth remembering that you still have customers on these boards- I understand that with the recent tragic loss of Franco (R.I.P) things will have been put on hold, but we haven't heard much from the gh crew in a while.

Maybe a few less photos of celebrities smoking weed and clouds of vaporizer smoke and a bit more talk/ info.

Less playin' more sayin' , if you know what I mean?

Maximum respect intended, as always.

Nestle gave new mothers just enough formula samples so that their own milk supply would dry up from a lack of use. Greenhouse seeds instead of being appalled at such behavior decided to apply it to the cannabis market by traveling the world and trading seeds with impoverished growers who have untainted landrace genetics. How it that relatable to what nestle did? Well they're leaving behind just enough samples to get the growers hooked on their far more commercially viable dutch polyhybrids and hoping beyond all hope that they're stupid enough to hybridize their previously unsoiled genetics so that greenhouse seeds is the sole holder of the original strain in it's pure form.

Now that greenhouse is the sole holder of those genetics it would be foolish to give them out in their pure form. In fact if making money is your ultimate goal the best thing to do at this point is to make a hybrid with the landrace and then backcross it to the other more commercially viable strain in a feminized format only. The reason behind that is they can claim to have tamed the wild landrace for indoor growing conditions while making it essentially impossible for you to get those landrace traits into your own lines.

Sounds familiar doesn't it? Fuck those nestle wannabes. I'm totally against the war on drugs but in their case I hope they get raided and lose everything

Well that is possible but I think you are giving them too much credit for cleverness. I think the whole hunt was to provide a photo display of their honest intent and great devotion to cannabis.

And also to maybe work some of the strains into their hybrids. Not at all to maintain old lines or make them available to the public.

They originally acted like they were scouring the planet for all the strains of old and were going to release them to the public once they had been worked a little to remove hermies and whatnot. They came across as preservationists with an interest in making some money but instead they've horded everything they've collected, refused fair payment to the people they've taken genetics from and then took a giant shit all over the local genepools by giving out their dutch polyhybrids everywhere they've been.

It's been years since I've looked at their menu but I'd put money on them still refusing to release any landraces they've collected even as a feminized F1 hybrid. They're in it solely for the money so they've got a strong interest in protecting their investment which is why you'll only ever see the landraces they've collected as part of feminized polyhybrids that make it just about impossible to isolate the traits from them.

Those videos are merely there for proof of collection because once the 3rd worlders they fucked over start growing their new dutch polys they're going to stick with them in one form or another as their lives depend on pulling the biggest and best crops they can. Greenhouse knows this so in say 10-20 years when they go back and see everyone growing hybrids they get to claim to be the sole possessors of the original genetics and will refer back to the original videos as proof.

I guess it's unfair to put them at the same level as nestle considering they screwed newborn kids and mothers over, dropped their commitment to ending their use of slave labor on cocoa farms, etc. but if you look at the cannabis market as a whole it's about as close to emulating nestle's behavior as you can get for them.
