Chitosan and Tobacco Mosaic Virus

I recently acquired some amazing new genetics, unfortunately the cuts also came with Tobacco Mosaic Virus.

So I've been reading up on ways to either get rid of the problem, or deal with it. As far as getting rid of it, I'm shit out of luck unless I can create a TMV free clone using tissue culture.

Aside from that I've found this product:
https://www.biocontrols.com/secure/sh...spx?itemid=158

The company makes the claim that it will help with mosaic virus problems, and lists chitosan as the main ingredient in this mix. Has anyone used this product, or know if chitosan is beneficial to cannabis and treating TMV?

How did you confirm the presence of TMV ?

Had some local cuts last year that showed the classic signs but turned out to be bad compost and root aphids , wasted time chaseing the wrong problem , worth checking.

Cucumber mosaic and others will infect canna to a lesser degree of damage , and is more likely here than TMV

Can confirm a virus by squeezeing the juice from an affected leaf onto a known clean plant , will show infection within 14 days.

Read somewhere that high temps will kill the virus at slightly lower temp than will kill the clone , would be trying that if i had this problem.

Herbal supplier has it for 40 quid a kilo , the water cost more than the product.

Chitosan is an all-natural fibre that comes from the ocean. It is a natural product derived from Chitin, a polysaccharide. Also known as Deep Sea squid extract, Chitosan is similar to that of cellulose in plant fibre.

Specification: Chitosan Powder 90% D.A.C.(bulk density is 0.3)

Most of the chitosan out this way comes from the sea food industry. Prawn, shrimp, lobster and crab shells. This product, for some reason, has been made illegal. Producers got around it for a while by calling it marinosan. Peace GS
