well i was all excited because i was starting my new grow and just got my BOGBubble seeds.
germinated and planted 8 the same way i have every other time...using the paper towel method.. only 2 of the 8 seeds germinated and sprouted. i dont know why either.. ive done it this way about 6 other times now and never had this bad of a problem. even 5 out of the 6 skunk #1 freebie seeds sprouted last grow. i just dont get it. ![]() edit: i think i jumped the gun a little bit. i just checked them again and under the soil i can see 3 more coming up. i guess i was just anxious for the others since the 2 that came up already came up 2 days ago. my other grows, they all came up within like a 12 hour time frame. sorry about that.. looks like the germination ratio wont be too bad. :p Last edited by diggity-dank; 02-05-2004 at 06:46 PM.. |

Give them a little more time. If still nothing, save the seeds, and try the rest. BOG stands behind his seeds 100%, so if there is a problem, He will fix it.
I've always had good luck with BOG's seeds, But sometimes " Shit Happens ". Got 4 "LSD" seedlings going now, 5 Blue Moon Rocks @ 3 weeks flower, and about to harvest Some BoggleGum & SC99 in a couple of days. I also just pulled some "LifeSaver" seeds from the Mail Box an hour ago. Good Luck peace Last edited by SlackerScrog; 02-05-2004 at 08:21 PM.. |

Some of my seeds have harder casings than most and to get quick germination I recommend a really wet and warm soak for the first 24 hours. Then wring out the excess water and keep warm. This way usually gets 100 % germination in less than 72 hours. BOG

I know you asked BOG, but since it is obvious that I have nothing else to do today, I'll throw out my method.
I soak seeds in a solution of 7oz water & 1oz H2O2 ( hydrogen peroxide ), for 12-24 hours, place between damp paper towels, in a bowl, in a zip-lock bag, and place ontop of furnace/heating duct. ( If furnace isn't running, then I place under/behind Frig. next to compressor.) I open bag 1-2 times a day to exchange air, and check that paper towels are still damp. Some seeds take longer then others, so I always wait for at least 6 days before I give up on any that havn't sprouted. peace |

Slacker shows how much heat he likes and it's pretty warm to get fast germination. You must not overheat them either so go easy but often people just let them germ at room temp and that isnt as fast or sure. Seeds are programmed to require a soaking or 2 and warmth to split otherwise in nature they would die in the cold.
I don't use h2o2 but I know many do, some add a drop of superthrive but I add nothing. Germinating my seeds is never really a problem for me. ![]() I use paper towel or kleenex in a covered dish instead of a plastic bag usually but I do it that way too sometimes for ease. BOG

another method
I use 7 drops of Superthrive in a gallon of distilled water and fill styrofoam cups half way and add seeds they will float for a couple of hours, slosh them around and they should sink to bottom.I leave them in for 24-48 hrs. changing the water every 12 hours,as soon as they crack they are pulled from the fortified water and put in the medium of choice. This almost always gets me 100% germ rates. Some strains will all crack in less than 24 hours so don't leave them in the water long after they crack the shell as you might drown them.As long as you check every 6-8 hours you will have excellent results!!! CC
Out of 6 strains started a couple of days ago, only 1 afghani seed hadn't cracked in 48 hours.3 of the strains had 15 seeds,so you can see the results! Last edited by Capt. Crip; 02-06-2004 at 01:22 AM.. |
