hey, nice pics!
I´ve grown a few seeds of WR before, and had oly a single seed left, I germinated her a week ago, and for my surprise, ( a good surprise ) she is the plant that is standing out at the moment, she has a good vegetative growth, and is a mutant, instead of the leafes coming in pairs, this individual is tossing 3 leafes! ... I wanted to know, if this is a common trait in White russian, and also, if anyone can give me an imput on what to expect from her... my other seeds grew out and smoke magnificently, and quite uniform, do you guys think that this mutant will have diferent carachteristics in flower formation / smell / structure / taste? look forward to reading the replies |

The phenomenon you sees is a so called trifoliate plant.
A trifoliate plant is nothing bad, just gives you more yield, but is not a stable genetic trait...i see them as natures miracles (like a 5 leaved clover). White Russian is normally not polyploid, but as said that can sometimes happen (with any cannabis strain!). He should cherish this plants and take clones of it, so he can grow them out again in the future. Normally the trifoliate expression disappears after a few internodes, meaning that the plant might start to grow pairs again when its taller. If the plant keeps this trait he will have a 30% higher yield! Aloha,Thomas. (Marketing-Manager Serious Seeds)

hey, thaks for your answer! well a couple of days have gone by and I see a clear evolution on My WR..... I had a overwhatering issue, and the only plant that didn´t suffer from it was this specific WR I´m talking about.... the plant is still shooting 3 leaves instead of shooting pairs, unfortunately the side branches are normal and not trifoliate, I´m thinking of coning her top, to maintain this trifoliate trace, as I think due to this fenom she has much more vigor then other plants... I have a foto of her on my cell fone, I took specially to post up here today, but i´m such a stoner, I forgot my phone at home..... so just for a bit more info, I´m currently vegetating: 5 Peyote Purple ( all verry sensible plants, very light feeder and light drinker ...I see 3 diferent fenos, and all produce the same smell when stem is rubbed...typical smell from peyote, kushy shampoo, metalic kind of smell, the least atractive plant in all my strains, but I know she is a delicious smoke, I´ve grown her a few times ) 1 Tropical kush ( PCK x unknown african sativa ) funny plant, verry light green leaves typical from african sativas, but they are shaped like indica leaves, her smell is also a sativa like smell when stems are rubbed, roasted cofee is what I get, very pleasant smell. 1 King Kong Kush ( PCK x Congo Point Noire) this is a killer cross as well, big dark green leaves, strong indica influence, strong burnt rubber smell when stems are rubbed on this one! looking forward to flowering her! 1 Sensi Star tipical indica influenced hybrid with dark thick leaves, and an incredible acid smell comming from her, reminds me a lot of a lost Pheno I had of her, wich used to be my favorite smoke, high hopes for this one as well! hope she is like the one I lost! grate high, beautiful comedown to a relaxing couchlock! 1 sandstorm, still verry little first pair of true leaves on this one, but coming fast and lush! 1 White russian, whitch is shocking me with its speed in veg growth, true hybrid vigor, and a verry diferent smell from everything I´ve grown and seen, when stems are rubbed, I get a cherry...strawberry gum smell mixed with menthol.... just simply amazing ... my preveous WR grow, I got the same menthol note, but it had nothing fruity to it, it was a pine / menthol aroma and taste.....and this current grow, the WR is packing a delightfull red berry sour smell mixed with a smooth green menthol ... and for real, she looks like she was planted 3 weeks ahead of the others, but they are all the same age, except for the sandstorm witch came took the place of a Peyote Purple that got culled by my cat .... sorry for writing so much and not posting 1 picture.... but I promisse , i´ll get the photos up for your comparrison..... well, once again, thanks for this wonderful plant! till next time, CF*
