Wonderful to see what an indoor grow produces from this seed stock and Zamal/Warlock cross. One of the phenos I grew was probably the most fragrant vegetative plant I have yet to smell. Each flower cluster was entirely a clump of individual foxtail colas, though the photo makes it look like giant, fat, continuous colas.

It was totally mature by Sept 6, a good 2-4 weeks ahead of the other phenos from the same seed. It, too, seems to be the Indica (WLD) variety. Somewhat self-pruning as it went yellow a bit further than most and dropped the fan leaves.

On inhale it's smoke is medicinal-tasting, sort of cough syrupy, to the throat and tongue. The exhale brings a light hashy taste. No hint of citrus or fruitiness. The high is a balanced hybrid-style mix: energetic at first while mellowing into a relaxed, but not couchlocked, state. Somewhat a creeper. Probably a 7 out of 10 for potency.

Good pain relief for inflammation - I've been dealing with a bout of arthritic fire in my left hip socket, probably from an injury I incurred 45 years ago in a 6 foot backwards onto a cement floor. It quells the fire pretty well, letting it fall into the background instead of forcing its pain to the front of my consciousness. Not far from pharmaceutical level relief like Codeine.

Here it is in front of the Queen Zamabindi behind it, another pheno that I named for it's upright Christmas tree stature and deep green pine tree colored appearance. Classic Sativa (NLD) stylee....

I call this pheno "The Fragrant One" because it also kept an amazing amount of deep scent after flowering and harvest. 5 months of bottle cure have morphed its aroma a bit and has made the smoke more mellow to the throat, too.

Great read, Madjag. Cogent explanation. And I am awe-struck by your patio decoration. I grew Warlock out as one of my first indoor projects. And loved her. I remember her knuckling and foxtailing but I don't remember how long I let her go. I loved the effect which -although I've never smoked opium - I thought the "high" would be close to the opium experience. Above things. And very calm.

Is it characteristic of any of your phenos' pistils to slide into an intense russet hue. It is quite beautiful - I will try to take some photos tomorrow. The pistils seem to stay vital for a while so I'm not sure it's signaling encroaching senescence - only a few have started to wither. And she's still kicking out these white entrail pistils - slowly...they look like pistils that are so slathered with resin that they don't extend out of the flower...if you know what I mean. They kinda stay burrowed within the flower structure. I have started feeding her a bit less but am not near doing a full flush.

About how many weeks would you say the early one went? I will be delighted if this makes it to 9 weeks...she's day 45 (or so) now.

It's interesting also regarding what you wrote about pain. I have been thinking that cannabis somehow changes my relationship to pain. Interesting...much to ponder.

The early maturing pheno (The Fragrant One) was also the earliest to leave veg and go into flower.

Beginning of flowering: June 15
Harvest: Aug.9-15
Total: 7-8 weeks of flowering

All colas were foxtail clumps
70% pistils were russet

And yes, the creamy-white pistils keep on coming even when the fan leaves were yellowing and the majority of pistils were russet. Thus I beleive it is primarily an Indica (BLD) strain poking through.

You say that you have grown pure Warlock? How does this Zamal/Warlock girl compare?
How do the photos of my early girl compare? The many Warlock photos on IC show a lot of different phenos, some looking Sativa by golly.

ezra was posting very early on about Warlock and bought some of the original seeds.
His bush in the barrel looks much like my early pheno Zamal/Warlock.

I had a chat with Gerrit recently about the old Warlock lines. I remember a whole host of Sandlewood Warlock that were released to seedbay quite a few years ago. These I suspect were the early worked lines of warlock. Gerrit was pretty dedicated to what he had.. He worked warlock well.

My conversation was based on whether I could find any of the old Sandlewood Warlock to search through. He told me they all went a long time ago. A guy in Australia took a load but I have been unable to track him down. I even asked oldpink if he had any stored away in the vaults.. Unfortunately I've come up a blank.

At the moment sourpuss is working an oldish warlock cut if anyone is interested...

This is a great line.. Gerrit told me if I wanted to look through the lines to find the Sandlewood expressions I would find it by using males from the regular warlock and pollinating them to the feminized Warlock.. This would give the progeny enough variation to sift through to find Warlocks that aren't so prevalent in the reg and fem lines on their own.....

^^^that is a great idea! I wonder how many company's use females from older, better stock, for their fems? As they are already the elite females from the line, supposedly, they would be an excellent place to start if you wanted to keep those traits...duh! Lol...

Gerrit is the man....respect.

Goddam, Madjag! The Fragrant was a beautiful plant!!

A picture is worth a thousand words...Here's a few pics - so severall thousand words.

The pic from my earlier post was taken on Feb 15. Here she is tonight...sorry about the photography...not doing her justice...

As you may be able to see from the buds...the white pistils have turned a golden russet...most do not appeared withered. Although the tops of some pistils are beginning to go the way of all flesh. She was placed under 12/12 on Jan. 17...about 47 days of flower (I count from when she goes under 12/12 not first real flowering). She's still throwing some white pistils but they are primarily in the background and you have to look for 'em. She sure am an eyeful. I wish there were more of her but I'll just have to grow her out again, methinks. Your thoughts about the current state of things are certainly welcome.

I don't remember much about the Warlock grow - only that it was one that I treasured. Since I was dealing mainly with learning my way around Amsterdam genetics at that point in my career, there were not a whole lot that moved me in my early days. Warlock did, however. Other than the cauliflower knuckles/foxtails (something I had not seen before) and the remarkable height and breadth of the effect, I don't remember much about it. Way back...may have been when I was arm-wrestling with active hydroponics. The Early Girl does look something like the Warlock that I remember, BTW. To the extent I have a memory.

The nutes involved in indoor growing have an enormous effect upon the scent of finished flowers as well as the taste.

Coco, pure hydro, soil-based indoor grows are going to be different in this respect from the beginning. Add liquid nutes from varying sources and different methods and expertise levels for flushing and voila, quite different results within the same identical genetic framework of the mother plant.

Warlock won again in Barcolone

HI, Guys!

Here some pics of the award-ceremony at the Dab-A-Doo 2015 in Barcelona.

Marc and jodie emery and jorge Cervates presented us with the third place in
the solventless category for WARLOCK waterhash.

The sample was made by Mat from House of the Great Gardener from Canada
(=HOGG)and he entered BARB-waterhash himself, which won the second place
right infront of us.

His hash rocks!!!!

Congrats to everybody and LOOOOOOOOOOTS of thanks to HOGG!!!!!

With best regards,
Thomas.
