Warlock
Warlock
1 award The Warlock was the flagship strain of Magus Genetics and has in itself a somewhat legendary status. Serious Seeds is very proud to welcome this pure bred 'stallion' in its stable. The Warlock won immediately a High Times Cannabis Cup at its debut in 1997 and has never been entered after that. It is an Afghani/Skunk-hybrid, which was selected for its special taste and high. Although indica dominant, this plant really combines some of the best Indica and Sativa characteristics. Short and bushy during veg. period, but grows huge compact buds with few leaves in flowering. Few medium sized leaves with a massive amount of flowers make the Warlock easy to manicure. The clear white pistils change to a tan/pinkish color when ripe. Strong sweet smell with a tinge of sour, reminds of fresh fruits. The effect is a strong high, which is felt more in the head than in the body. Insert for photo: 3rd place High Times Cup Bio 1997 Type: F1-hybrid, mostly Indica ♂♀ - ♀ Recommended veg. time seedlings: ~5 weeks Indoor flowering time: 55 - 60 days Indoor yield: 400 - 500 gr/m2 Outdoor/Greenhouse harvest time: early November Price: € 50,- for 11 regular or 6 female seeds

Warlock is an outstanding strain, under-rated and understated.
I had the good fortune to be gifted by an IC member with Gerrit Slot's 2008 Masibindi (Warlock x Zamal A) and the 2005 Warlock x (Zamal B x Warlock). Slot is the creator of Warlock and its subsequent variations who, as you know, apparently retired from the breeding scene and sold his lines to Serious Seeds. Warlock has great potential for use in hybrid strains like these. Zamal strains from La Reunion island, east of Africa and near Mauritius, have a long history of being powerful, uplifting, and motivating. Gerrit was just beginning to explore this new direction when he left the field, however a good number of IC members who followed his work were on top of his releases and spread the love, allowing Warlock to stay in the action. I hope you’ll seek out Warlock and join the fun of using a fairly rare genetic design that was an instant winner among old-school smokers when it first appeared. |

"Most Fragrant One" on the left - 14.July.14
A Zamabindi that flowered late June, had outrageous fragrance by mid-July, and now has fairly-dense, resin-covered buds and sugar leaves. Zamal is known for its auto-flowering tendencies and males that hermie back to females. Zamal males are thus apparently rare. My only successful 2008 Masibindi last year was a male with no hermies at all. Must be the Warlock crossed with it that cured that issue. I crossed it with both Critical Mass (MNS) and Magus Genetic's Warlock x (Zamal B x Warlock) females to get Zamacritical and Zamabindi (my names). I have three of each and there are 6 distinct phenos total. The Zamacritical shows three distinct and the Zamabindi shows three. - One pheno of each variety has the pure Sativa look, with the carrot-peppery pheno from the Zamal. These are barely flowering as of the end of July. - One pheno of the Zamacritical has the look of original Skunk #1 and is well into flowering already like the "Most Fragrant One" Zamabindi, just a skinnier, more elongated bud structure. I started with 20 of each variety F1s and narrowed it down by screening for robust growth, scent, and solid structure. Smoke test will reveal all and I think I'll be keeping a mother of two for next year. Last edited by Madjag; 09-17-2014 at 05:53 PM.. Reason: ... |
