Bubble Gum
Bubble Gum
10 awards Legendary for its sweet smell and euphoric high. Bubble Gum is a medium tall plant, usually not too branchy (sometimes tall) and producing compact, crystal covered buds. Plants grown from seeds are very similar to one another. Originally the Bubble Gum was developed by growers in Indiana, USA. Later those original genetics came to Holland and were given to two seed companies. Each created their own ‘original Bubble Gum’ from that material. The Serious Bubble Gum is more sativa like in looks and effect, a sturdy and strong plant, with the characteristic, sweet smell (truly resembling a typical bubble gum taste) and euphoric high; the original trademarks of this famous strain. The only inbred strain (not F1 hybrid) in the Serious menu. Bubble Gum has won 4 awards in High Times Cannabis Cups and similar festivals. In 2004 and 2005 it won 5 local and national Cups in Spain alone! In 2006 the Bubble Gum received its best award; it became ‘Plant of the year’ by magazine ‘Soft Secrets’ because many Spanish growers won in local competitions with the same plant: Bubble Gum. Insert for photo: The original sweet Bubble Gum taste!! Type: IBL, Sativa/Indica hybrid Recommended veg. time seedlings: ~5 weeks Indoor flowering time: 56 - 63 days Indoor yield: 300 - 450 gr/m2 Outdoor/Greenhouse harvest time: mid/late October Price: € 70,- for 11 regular seeds

Nice pics there. ^^ How is the high off this as compared to say GDP or other strains?
Kind of balanced maybe? |

Claude, have the genetics or parentage of Bubblegum been changed in the past at all? I used to grow Serious BG for many, many years, from a mother I selected out of a pack of seeds purchased sometime around 2001, and I have recently wanted to put BG back into my stable again. Have anything changed with Bubblegum since? Still the potential for the sativa-leaning candy pheno I grew back then?
To this day, after all the dozens of strains I've grown and smoked since then, BG is still my favorite, and I miss it greatly. |

Thank you for the response Claude! I plan on making another seed order in a couple of months, and I will be picking up a few packs of Bubblegum, for certain.

I grew it about 6 years ago.
I can honestly say that in all this time, grown tons of other stuff, some of it pretty amazing, but NOTHING smelled better in the jar after a bit of a cure. The most amazing sweet floral bouquet. Magic. The yield and the high is not too bad either. I'd do it again tomorrow, if I wasn't in the middle of several other projects. |

![]() This particular pheno purpled out very easily and has an almost grapefruit type smell. I tossed this particular pheno because it did not yield much, but the smoke is very strong and sativa like. The pheno I kept is a much better representation of the bubblegum strain and is still quite strong. It also gave me a proper yield and I believe these will be very great plants to scrog. Next time for sure. Also, I did this under a Red Sunrise metal halide to which the plant responded very well. Coco with GH nutes under the Head formula. I'd say a touch too much N, but I will swap out my nitric acid pH down for a phosphoric acid pH down. One last thing, the pheno that I kept is quite the feeder. They ate more than my indica leaning hybrids. I noticed a slight phosphorus def vs. some of my indica hybrids which should easily be corrected with the above pH down solution change. Very strong plants.
