We're less than a degree different in latitude, see my thread in this folder: Summer @ 42N with HFH. I have found that HFH plants will flower very early here.

Here is a post of mine from August 8,2011:

Quote:
I've definitely learned that --at my latitude-- the hashplants need to be given optimum growing conditions during mid may - mid june in order to get large plants.

Next year I will be growing the Hashplants and their crosses again but with some cultural changes; amended soil and a bit more sun. I put some plants out this year that had to deal with low PH and low nitrogen and their size suffered because of this.

This has also been a tough year. I notice many grows in my area suffered from a cool and wet spring. Our field crops of corn and beans are several weeks behind normal because of the spring conditions and late plantings. When it finally warmed up it was extreme heat with every other day thunderstorms. A very tough year.

I'm extremely pleased with the hashplants - I love the taste and high and I love the plants EAGERNESS to flower early. I just need to remember that my shorter days will require better growing conditions during the critical veg period from mid may through
June. I've found little leaf spot disease this year -- but only in NON HFH plants. My hashplants have all been very healthy.

I've got an ounce or so of Hashplant in jars. This was from my early plants that stayed in flower through the solstice. Next year I will capitalize on this HP ability to remain in flower and try for an early spring harvest. Since April planted HPs mostly will remain small, under 1 meter, I will be able to share the same gardens with my larger & later main crop.

Nobody but the brave go into the forests here during the summer because of the heat and ferocious mosquitoes. HFH genetics give me the ability to get a harvest (or two) in before the hunters return to the woods and fields in October.
I have no doubt but that you'll be even more pleased with the potency than you are the fabulously early harvest. Good stuff!
