hey!

I had read (elsewhere) that Green Dragon may be "the most efficient way of consuming cannabis". In short, 1/8oz of nice bud is chopped fine and baked on a sheet of aluminum foil in a preheated 325degree f oven for 5 mins to decarboxylate. Said herb is then heated in 2oz of 151 proof Rum (in a water bath) to 170f for 20 minutes. Allegedly, after thorough straining and squeezing, you will end up with +/- 1oz of Green Dragon. It was said that this product, ingested orally, WILL medicate you, that it (may) only take one eyedropper-full, and therefore, might medicate oneself THIRTY times from an eight of kind bud. WOW! If this IS correct, I wish I would have known it twenty years ago!---does anyone have any direct, hands-on experience to share? I am VERY interested!

I tried making green dragon with vapor poo, I have no idea what ratio vapor poo : rum I used, and the recipe I was following didn't involve the oven but rather letting it sit for several days and shaking it every now and then.

I tried it once or twice, and a couple friends tried it as well. We all had the same conclusion... It was STRONG and got us STONED, but not something any of us would do again. If you're looking for something to damn near knock you out, it might be a great plan!

I also tried it with the vaporizerstuff, I used sambucca(since it has a strong taste), it was great, the best use for the stuff out my vape so far. usually I find it too stoney, but this was very good
did have to at least drink about the amount that goes into a shot, maybe 2, but I also always have to eat a lot more of edibles to feel it

I would especially recommend it for parties, I drank it before going to a party held in a club and a lot of my friends asked me if I had taken xtc/what kind of pills I had taken :p

I let it sit for a few days, and placed the bottle in a pot that I regularly filled with warm/hot water, also shaked it regularly

I've done similar with coconut oil. The trick is to heat in over, then freeze for two days, then oven, then freeze.

I made pills instead of the tincture (green dragon tastes like shit) to make it easier to dose. And yes, it was STRONG. I got 42 pills out of 10 grams bud. Its so strong.. I ended up having to take a half of a pill at a time.. so thats over 80 doses.. that get you stoned for a good 4-6 hours.

WHen I first made them I took two pills at 7:30pm one night. I got acid trip high and stayed messed up until about 9pm the next evening. Yes, over 24hrs.

I'll never do that again.

Thanks for all the replies! I had read about it some time ago but never heard anyone speak of it. It always seemed (and still does!) like a manner in which those of us with small harvests could make the best use of our material. I am enthused in hearing about the positive results, and the potency! I don't imagine that you would have to bake it if you were using vapor poo, since it has already been heated. My two lonely girls just showed their first white hairs; I will keep everybody updated with my experiments. PS-icmag RULES! Everyone here is great, and I could (and do!) get lost for hours, reading! Peace!

Depends on what effects you're going for. IMHO Green Dragon is much different than smoking or vaping as far as the effects... If you have a vape that would be the best way to find out (that way your small harvest doesn't only wind up as Green Dragon in case it's not what you hoped). But then again, it could be that the super-narcotic effects I experienced were only that way because the THC or whatever canabanoids were spent in the vape and only the leftovers that didn't get released at vape temp wound up in the Green Dragon....
Maybe I'll have to try again with non vaped weed...

JustDoIt, I dig what you're saying about not going "all in" with the harvest, just in case the end product sucks. I'll probably just stick to the formula and go with an 1/8 oz. I have on old, multi-topped, regenerated, scrogged, lollipopped, tortured bag-seed sativa-dom with about 70 "bud spots" (branches I have selectively trained) under 207w cfl (9x23w) in a super-ghetto bonsai setup (in soil). I am surprised at the resilience and adaptability of this vine, "DaBush". She should provide enough for a little experiment or two, I hope!

i make green dragon a few times a year. pretty much use the first recipe posted with good results. however, i've changed a couple of things, which made it a little better for me and mine.

-first i decarb in the oven @280*f for 20 minutes
-use higher than 151 proof, if possible, everclear is great. no real taste
-use the best, carefully chopped or grinded bud you can
-i usually add some lower grade kief or bubble to the decarbing bud
-this is my key: i use half everclear and half pure extracts. i prefer lemon or orange. they contain strong alcohol (the orange extract i have now is 79% = 158 proof) and essences. the end product has a nice lemon or orange flavor. great to add to beer, water, or sodas or whatever. or squirt it under your tongue for quicker effects. (it burns a little when dosing straight under your tongue)

one last thing- USE A DOUBLE BOILER!! MAKE SURE YOUR WATER PAN IS MUCH WIDER THAN YOUR ALCOHOL/BUD PAN TO HELP KEEP IT FROM CATCHING FIRE!! alcohol boils at a much lower temp than water, so when you see tiny little bubbles in your alcohol mix, its boiling...
