is anyone actually checking their media pH?
and I don't mean adjusting your nutrient solution pH, with pH down |

I'm talking about using the 5-12-26 and the cal/mag instead of the cal/nit. I now know first hand that I for sure don't get enough nitrogen from the 5-12-26 and Jacks cal/nit(even in flower).

Using jacks hydro without the calci-nit will surely lead to imbalances and deficienses/lock-outs. Just stick with the 3 parts jacks to 2 parts calci-nit and then add in cal-mag. I would start low like 0.5 ml per gallon of nutes and go from there.
Cal/mag will not replace the calci-nit. |

My thing is.. cal mag IS cal/nit. Plus epsom. and lots of water.
Unlikely you are hitting the same N, Ca numbers with just calmag, but increasing Mg. If it works it works I suppose.. My maths, based on the above, would probably just show ya need to supplement jacks/calnit with epsom in ur case. I know you tried, but just look at the numbers brotha.. |

I wish there was a form of low N calcium nitrate for flower.
this last run my buds did much better with the Calcium biomin vs lowering the Calcium nitrate. Had much less mold. It just has a bad smell. |

Issue is RO has no ph.. When just adding jacks it doesnt stabilize properly. My RO makes my 500ppm well water about 20ppm in the storage tank. On the advice of an long time grower I started adding my well water back to bring it to 100ppm before adding my jacks.. Solved everything. It stabilizes PH so no more crashes with in the media. You dont need CalMag, Jacks has more then enough of both. Its your PH of the RO that is messing you up. |
