7x7 room, How man LED's ?
I am considering going with Led's for my new flower room, wondering if someone could give me a hand figuring out the best way to set it up.
* How many would I need? * What brands to go with? * would I be better off putting a 1k watt hps in the center of the room and adding some leds around the outside? * would I be better of putting 2 1kwatt hps's on a light rail and say forget about the leds? thanks |

You forgot to ask yourself this question:
Do you want to pay more up front and save money down the road (LED) , or do you want to pay less up front and pay more each month for the increase in electrical use (HID)? -Funk

None. Or use them as supplemental lighting.

with my recent led grow, being my first, i would say go with led's. although high cost upfront, the less heat they produce made a huge duifference.
i have a ds200 in a 2x2 cabinet. |

I've been very impressed with the results of my LED grows for the last couple of years, but for your application it sounds like you might be better off with HID's. For that large of an area, you are going to have one hell of an investment to get adequate coverage with LED's. Check out Phaeton's latest setup for a large-scale LED grow.

I did some research and I really like the Idea of the low heat leds put off, but wow they are crazy expensive. I think I am gonna go with 2 600 watt hps lights on a light rail. that should be enough light + cut down on the heat.
thanks for the input guys |
