sup everyone...

I hooked up a friend of mine with a bunch of cuttings, he rooted them, and then put them straight into Fox Farm Ocean Forrest soil and has been watering with tap water... he doesn't measure his PPM or PH...

from the little I have seen of the plants, the new growth looks healthy enough but some of the lower to mid level growth is not so hot... there is necrosis both at the leaf tips turning dark and crispy and necrotic spots on the serrations... to me it looks like there are both deficiencies and toxicities so I suggested he has a PH or PPM issue, but he wants some second opinions and asked me to post these for him...

what do you all think?

any ideas?

Did you check the leaf from the first pic for mites and/or thrips? It kinda looks like mite damage to me but I am no pro, I am sure others more knowledgeable will chime in.

Check out P related issues. Lockout/def/etc... JF's info (pg. 1) details the crispy edges and what you describe/show as P issue...

yea I noticed the P def... but he planted these into fresh ocean forest, so it shouldn't be suffering any defs not related to lock out, which lead me to think PH/PPM issues... as it has phosphorus, it just must not be available.

I think I am just going to tell him to flush with RO water, then a mild nute solution... any recommendations?

That's a good start, maybe a foliar too. I'd add back a lil Ca/Mg w the Ph'd RO. Then check runoff

think i have a mg Deficiency

Great thread you got going here. Hopefully someone can help me out a little with this one. Plants are in a UC system. ph around 6.0ish. the leaves that are showing this are the ones getting the most light. I think its a Magnesium Deficiency. If so and you agree what's the best course of action to fix it..5 weeks into flower..thanks
