led grow lighting

Dear members,

Those of you who do not think LED grow lights work you are mistaken, you clearly have not used them.

We have 1000s of very satisfied customers whos plants far exceed the growth rates when using sodium or MH.

95% of all light from a sodium or MH is not used compared to 100% light absorbtion using leds.

Over the next few years the EU will be banning all Sodium lights in order to save energy and reduce carbon footprints. Right now across Europe and already in the U.S fruit and vegetable farmers have been using LED grow lights to cultivate their crops.

WHY?????

Because they use 80% less electricity.... Imagine that 80% less electricity, that is a serious saving per year on your bills, money saved can be used to improve your business and get ahead of the rest, especially cheap imports.

If you are interested in saving serious amounts of money every time you turn on your sodium or MH lamps then you need to switch to led grow lights so you can start to put an end to those massive bills every month.

kind regards

Led grow light user

got a link in regards to HID lighting being banned in the next few years...?

and i am also an LED grower/fan, but HID lights do not have a 95% waste ratio...

in addition to money savings, which i would estimate to be about 1/3 less expensive. a lot of LED retailers/dealers will tell you that a 90 watt UFO can replace a 600 watt LED array. that's total bullshit if you ask me, as i have done quite a bit of research. a more realistic figure is 400 watts of LEDs can replace 600 watts of HID lighting.

the FLIR issue is also resolved since LED's do not put out any IR to heat the room. That in turn reduces the power needed to cool a grow room and/or lights.

also LED's have a much longer life than HID.

the cons - big initial investment (which takes a little while to re-coop the money, but pays off in the long run)...

The proposed EU changes are intended to stop new commercial installations of lower efficiency lighting forms in factories and car parks by 2020 , and long overdue.

Existing installations will not be affected , increasing efficiency on new bulbs and digital ballasts will keep pace with the changeing laws , sodium will be available till 2030 at least.

One of our units was rewired with new Phillips retro white bulbs and control gear last year by the landlord , 14 replaced 20 old sodium with far better light , 12 000 w replaced by 8400 w means the tecnology is not finished yet.

Specialist bulbs including agro and aquarium are exempt , only effects basic industrial lighting and most of us use better than that.

T8,s are on a hit list with a lot of other inefficient light sources includeing most of the remaining tungsten and mercury.

Wink

I come across misinformation a fair amount in posts, the exchange is good.

But to start a new thread based on ideas made up in the imagination is silly.

I veg with retro whites, bud with LED's, supplement with fluorescents and HID, all these have their place. None are useless or 10 times better, just different.

One size does not fit all.

his (Growlightman) other thread was binned for spamming...

he has a very capitalistic, biased opinion...

i love LED's and grow with them, but let's be realistic...

Two posts and one was binned? Sounds like he might be a contender for some type of record.
