Hallo Icmaggers,
sometimes ago I was staring at my reserved fridge for seeds and realizing once again, that while my collection of seeds is growing larger and larger, I won't ever be able to see them all growing, even in a whole lifetime... I'm a fanatic collectioner of lot of things, and seeds are one of my favorite/obsession since I begun growing. During years I tested SEVERAL varieties from different breeders around the world. Keeping mothers and fathers an testing them in different conditions to see which one performed well for me. I've found very special plants, and some of them are lost, but most of the best ones I succeded in preserving in clone form for myself. Unfortunately I've seen a decreasing quality of seeds during the last 15 years. I was thinking recently that nowadays the best source for genetics would have been investing 2000euros (ouch!) or equivalent guilders in seeds the first time I went to amsterdam (1995).... At this time seeds belonged to few companies, but quality was pretty good. Those seeds led to 'old school genetics' of today. After 1998 the quality lowered so much. Growing on large scale became illegal, but the seed companies kept putting out newer an newer varieties every year without proper developing time to breed them. For us, customers, We see a continous mixing up of the same dutch varieties. Till some us clone crossed the ocean and become hype that year. Then we saw the 'feminized' phenomenon that mixed things up more. If I were a kid now during my first trip to ams, this year, not any knowledge of genetics, just want to grow my first plants. Where do you think I'd go? Probably I would get a fem pack form barney? form GH? or at best some flying dutchman? or sensi seeds?!? WOW, good luck! Don't wanna spread some hate, but I've been into this myself and I was near to give up growing for the results that I had...Things and perspective changed for me when I was given by a guy met in amsterdam a few packs of seeds produced by him. That was the stuff I wanted and I kept. Next important step was for me Icmag and the connections among people on here. And the super service of bay and boo. This way I acquired quality genetics to be paired and confronted to my favourite plants. Years are passing and I see my fridge filling up of so many seeds... A sentence I read often around from friend Esbe is 'sharing is caring'. He's completely right,I totally agree with this. ![]() So I decided to open up my vault and my fridge and offer to people some of my recent seeds round. I want to share my genetics that I collected though years, all of them are from seeds, from original tested seeds. They represent what I smoke everyday and what I like most. It would be so a shame to lose some of them before sharing to the world. Beside this I was thinking something different from usual: to a different approach, that led me to this seed drop. Before 1998 people could grow 10.000 in holland with no worries. Selections form large batches was possible, and we got some special plants nowadays from this. Now it's not more possible. Laws are not changing and getting worse. But we have a new tool: the Internet. So now we can grow 10000 seeds from the same cross divided into 1000 people connected. A sort of open source program of selection at distance. Proper feedback is the most important and leads to selection of best mothers and fathers to be kept, after seeing different offsprings in different enviroment all over the world. This is precious, really precious for a breeder.I was thinking that maybe this way, we can select special plants, shared by and among the community. Clones can be later shared or swapped, F2s, F3s, BX can be sent back as freebies and tested out. Different tastes of different people can help to build a new variety with STRONG and WIDE real selection. Maybe someone finds what can be the new sour bubble among the bobblegum, one out a zillion of plants. If correct labelling and selection is done, we can create some good gentetics available for everyone. With the help of you people. Even 1 plant can give a good feedback. Now about seeds... In my posts you can read about my obsession for fruity and special tastes. I fell in love with orange and grapefruity strains. I found Agent orange from S***ool a delightful variety that tastes orange beyond some tarty, sweet, candy taste on the foreground. Able to turn maroon, to red and black in the cold. An another important trait is that smell transitions to taste so well and smooth. Both on the inhale and exhale. Potency is high, classy and trippy. I found a very special male from this seeds. Strong, brancy male that impressed me for 3 characters: 1. strong orange smell of the stem, 2. lots of tricomes around, even on male flower pods, and 3.an orange TASTE, yes, taste! of the male flower once chewed (I usually do this to deactivate the pollen of the male flower I use during pollination...) So I did an open pollination with this male and a whole flowering chamber of my most precious mother plants. What I sent to the bay is the result of this. Seeds are fresh, as they were harvested on the last days of november 2011, they're ready to be planted, but better let them a couple of days in fridge (even if during shipping it was pretty cold...) I chose mothers that I consider my specials: I can't think they won't be liked by everyone.... 1) Soma's NYCDgHaze, from seed. special grapefruity haze pheno, long flowering, big yielder psychedelic high. winner of 2nd place outdoor variety at ITCC 2012. you can follow her story in this thread: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread....59#post4926859 2) Soma's Amnesia haze from seed. special sativa large long flowering, sativa strong up high. Unique flowery spicy bouquet, in this thread: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread....00#post4504200 3) Sour diesel 2007 (Dv3?) from seed. Potent, spicy, diesel, fuely, a grail of plant. Slightly different from IBL. One of the most precious plant I have. Everyone gets crazy when tries this. https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread....58#post4862358 4) Sour indian: a special cross of the above sour d with an indian sativa selected by a friend of mine in south of india for her apricot/peach sweet smell. One of the rare plants to be able to dominate over sour diesel strong taste, giving a complex aroma of fruits and forest. Sativa plant, long stretcher. Very clear, motivating high. Beautiful aromas. (picts soon) 5) Mosca Negra's Sonic fly: one of my favourite lately. How lovely C99 blends in with a strong sweet secret indica. Potent and fast flowering. Here's her thread: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread....04#post4496404 6) Cheese exodus pheno: special selection from Big buddah, Out of 20 seeds the first year they came out, only one was complete different from others. It was sativa, long flowering and best smelling of them all. I later found it was very very close to the exodus cut. Low yielding, but nice to cross, as it passes very easily her fragrance. Limited version. All thesewere crossed with the agent orange special male. Seeds from all these variety performed very well in a germination test, and they're currently into sexing. I couldn't wait to share them because I found already some strong orange smelling specimens. Soon they'll be flowered and post some reports. Some of these are already around in the world, hope that someone's sowed them already and can give us feedback. In this project seeds should be free ![]() , so I thought about some freebies available for everyone....Some packs will be also on IC fundraiser for a cheap price to help support this site that so much helped me to learn and talk to right people. ![]() Now I'm doing some other projects and beginning my grapefruit grail project 2.0 with several new yummy varieties to test and cross. Hope you guys like it. Please tell me what you think, any comments, critique, advice or question is very welcomed. Enjoy my seeds, there's a lot of passion in each of them. ![]() This might be just the beginning... Take care Dr.P

Awesome post, man. I too started at the xxxx and moved on to the bay and bou. Glad to see that Agent Orange is from xxx xxxx. I grew Dairy Queen outdoor last year and love it. Will the AG hybrids have similar outdoor flowering time to AG (September/October)? Will be watching for your seeds to come up on the bay. I think Clarence said sometime next week.

I hope to be able to join in your project once I am in a legal spot out in Cali...where i am at now all I can do is get a few plants grown during a season for my own personal head! But I, like you, have a good sized seed collection! Many are sativa..cause that is what i like to smoke myself..but i have some better indica strains too! I will be looking in/lurking if you will..until i am moved and set up in my new spot! Thank you for posting the Agent Orange..nice choice! And..thank you for wanting to share! Big ups to you! monkey5

Awesome Dr. P. I would jump on these if given the chance. I must say it pains me to post this as it will bump the post and allow more people a chance to see it.
Honestly I would rather this post slip away never to be seen by anyone else so that I might have a better chance when these drop. Oh well, as said, sharing is caring. Last edited by Treetroit City; 02-06-2012 at 12:46 AM.. |
