Space Chimp- my first run back
So after a long forced hiatus, I'm back to doing what I love this time legal. After doing jail time and a long paper run the same thing I got charged with is now legal to me as a med patient.
After researching whats around as far as seeds go, I choose to start with Space Chimp and LUI13. Had a cold room to start with 65-73 temps during germ. Soaked 24 hours and put into coco plugs on Jan 9. Space chimp had no problems at all 7for 7 popped up. LUI13 didnt fare as well 2 for 6 had to plant the other 4 and all popped under a mat. I use a 70/30 coco perlite mix, liquid karma with pure blend pro for nutes. I make my own tables using wood, 2x4's and 4mil plastic sheeting. Veg under a cool sun hood with a 400 Hortilux Blue. I'll add venting later as temps are good. The Space chimps are exploding at the begining of week 3 veg. I've just topped the first chimp and will top the rest this coming week. Pretty uniform selection, all about the same highth with one being just a little more stretchy. I'm really hoping to get a female leaning in each direction as both the parents are strong contenders for mothers. I'll try to update as I go. I'd like to thank D420 for making these genes available.

So far the space chimps are exploding with growth. All but 1 or 2 have been topped. They all have loved the topping and are all streching up. Looks bushed out on the first 2 I topped already and its only been 3days for 1 and 2 for the other. the rest were topped yesterday.
Had to vent the hood due to heat the last 2 days, didnt affect the chimps but again the lui13's didnt like it. Finished the plumbing so no more hand watering, all on drip. Group shot of 5 of them. first one I topped blowing up. and one I have my eye on already, has a slight grapy smell. Thanks d420, glad you took a look.

Quick update, made my first dumbass mistake and forgot to correct ph when I changed the reservoir. Too busy getting the flower room ready but quick flush and back on track. Also have noticed one branch on 1 chimp has gone poly. Its carried through 3 nodes so far, really wondering if I clone that branch will it carry over to the clones? Are any of the genetics in these known for poly traits? This is from my taller pheno so I'm assuming it leans alien.
They are starting to get a good stink to them and they are still veging, I get some sweet skunk from some and a little sour or tangy grape from the shorter ones. Cant wait to flower these.

Thought I would update, they went into 12/12 Friday. It took me longer to finish the flower room then I wanted, so they are a little big going into flower. The poly branch has continued on just that branch. Really pissed I stressed them early with the ph but they have recovered with no problems. I'll snap some picks in flower soon.
Here is the flower room I made for them. Room is 9ft tall 5.5 wide and 8.3 long. I decided to make the table (sheet wood with 2x4 sides wraped in triple layer plastic with plumbing) 4ft 7in wide and 7ft 3 long, 18 inches tall in front with 2 inch incline in back. She fits rather nicely. Will be running 2 1k hortilux on blockbuster 8inch port hoods. Venting with 745cfm fan that will be hooked to a carbon scrubber. Still need to add the co2 this week and vent in as well. This run will only be with 1 light . Any guesses on strech on these? think I'll have to weave with the trelis to keep them down a bit.

Re: Space Chimp- my first run back
Hey billy. The stretch can vary depending on pheno. The og pheno can stretch 2-2.5x.. sometimes a little more.. a majority of them should be right around 2x.. sorry about the poly bro.. i have not seen that as of yet.. feel free to ask anymore questions bro.

Thanks for getting back to me d420, the one I was worried about is now under control.
Well I've sexed all but 3 so far and got 2 females out of 4, right at 50% right now. Female #2 has been in 12/12 for 14 days now and #5 is at 10 days. Sorry about the hps light I'll try to grab a pic without it on soon. I'll start with #2, the beast. This one has one poly branch (big one in back) the rest are right and clones right. She almost got away from me as she shot up in flower fast, some tucking and tieing down did the trick. She is smelling citrusy with a funk to it. Im assuming she's leaning fire alien. #5 is alot shorter with less stretch. She is starting to really suck in the light now so well see where she stops. She is smelling like tangy grapes right now so I really hope that carries over in taste and smell. I'm assuming its leaning GG which is what I really wanted. I'll grab some better pics in the next couple days. So far very impressed with the genes.

Another male, but a grape leaning male which is what I was after so I'm happy. #2 is still stretching but I think she is just about done though.
I really love everything about #5, she is a good height, nice 6 heads, dark color(hoping for some purp with a nice cool night), nice funky grapeish scent and only 17 days in 12/12. beautiful girl.

I'm so glad you took up the Space Chimp. I was debating between it and flamethrower for who goes next. Your girls look great. I look forward to seeing your results. I was very impressed with galactic grape and I'm sure you will find some great plants.
Best of Luck! -AK |
