House of Love... Midnight Madness test grow with lou
Figured it was about time to get the test grow thread up and running. For those of you who have been following these MM in my lounge, skip ahead, cause it's catch up time for the rest of you folks
![]() First and foremost, big thanks to Festi and Red for the chance to test out their new strain. Definitely some good gents spreading the love ![]() After getting my hands on these little buggers, I popped an entire pack of 11 beans. Light scarification was used, followed by the paper towel method. Some other reports of tough shells, but a little sandpaper scuff and they jumped right out of their shells. 10/11 germ within 48 hours. The last popped after 72 hours and stalled out right away. Had a bit of a slow start where I killed off some other seedlings. These beans were resilient and all 10 made it into veg and preflowering. Here they are at 4 weeks, where I started to notice a main difference. One set, shorter, slower growing, with these huge, fat ass stems. Another set, taller, happier with topping, branching, faster growing. 4 week fat stem They've been kept in beer cups for just a bit over two months now. No autoflowering traits due to small pots, and all had shown sex by 7 weeks. Under 200w of CFLs... Along with the other plants in the veg area, they were getting around 10w per plant... In case the slower growth worries anyone, these haven't grown slower than any of my other varieties grown using this same method. Tall phenos Shorter phenos First female shows at 6 weeks, short fat stemmed girl |

By 7.5-8 weeks of veg, they had all shown sex, and here were the ladies
![]() Females Nice and diverse enough looking. A few phenos, and surely some more differences to come, with many similarities shining through. Mainly the thick ass stems!! By 9 weeks, the males called for some weeding out. 5 will be kept for pollen collection, while 2 were discarded. The trash bin, the tallest and the smallest males |

That brings us to our contenders for this round...
5 Midnight madness males. I had a hard time discarding the other two, but there simply isn't room in my rumpus room for 7 plants!! And the 3 females, looking good. They should get the repot here in a couple of days, and should be flipped in 4. They are going to be flowered in 1 gallon grow bags, with coco/perlite. GH 3 part nutes, cal-mag, drip clean, SM90. Blumats to control watering. Should be a great show! Thanks again festi, red, and the house of coitus!!

Kick that ass brother Lou! I'm f'ing amazed that you guys can keep plants in keg cups for 2 months without the plants getting stressed!
The slower growth pheno may be due to the OG Kush bx1, as it pretty much took it's sweet time. Respect to you, my friend!

Seed Buyers Beware! Don't waste your money on hype. If you have to buy multiple seed packs to find that "keeper", you're getting ripped off. Every female in a pack of seeds should be a keeper! We've been led to believe that lots of variation in a cross is a good thing, because some vendors would rather you buy several packs of their gear, instead of them actually doing the selections to fix that nag champa or golden clit trait themselves. For hobby growers, pheno hunting is fun. But mono-croppers who grow to pay the bills prefer a consistent product that regularly delivers the desired trait package. |

Shit was some fire, but mostly I just smoke my hash/oil, and leave the buds for others. When I do smoke buds, it's normally in joints, and I like to mix them all up She'll be around for a bit though, that's for sure ![]() Quote:
As far as the keg cups, I'm sure the plants scream obsentities at me when I leave the room, but they will just have to deal with it, cause that's how it's gotta happen! It's also a nice stress test Glad to see the room filling up!! Great to have ya'll here

just to let yo know lou, the freak was a shorter pheno for me, and other than a couple of balls that were obviously my fault, this thing has one hell of a dense rock solid cola! sort of wish i hadnt trimmed her back, but i had to keep an eye on her!
