What's going on with Serious?
I grew AK and Chronic years ago,(seeds were 15 per pack) when I was basically a noob.
With all the issues noobs have, I never had any problems with pre-flowers or herms. Now it seems herms are everywhere with AK and NOW, WR, makes sense AK is a parent of WR. What's up? Are the original parent plants gone? What the heck has changed? Something must have!!! I'm really wanting to buy from Serious again,( WR is/was #1 on my to do list right now) but these hermi issues are steering me away. |

Hold your fire....I started w/ the Ak many years ago and it was epic. I am also looking to get into the White Russian. My guess is that Serious Seeds has not changed yet the growers have. Growing herb is becoming more and more main stream. So more and more people are sowing seeds on a whim and not buying the right equipment, doing the research or dedicating themselves to their gardens. I have read of hermi and other issues but who are the peeps reporting these!? Are the growers who have been running 40 light ops since Napoleon rode into Waterloo, or are these 19 years old kids with some 25 watt cfls growing in a closet wrapped in tin foil? I am thinking its the later.

SERIOUS SEEDS/ MAGUS SEEDS
these 2 seed banks have merged and with SS seeds; simon is always playing with the genetics. ak-47 is his creation but countless wannabees have cashed in on the name; typical horse-shit for the market today. if you received ak-47 in a numbered package; all you need to do is go to the website and inform them for replacement seed.
if you dont have a numbered package and im not going to say what the pac looks like; then you most likely do not have serious genetics. also the best way to grow all serious seed are under H.I.D. lights or outside; not LED or CFL. way to many micro-grows with not enough wattage or stupid fancy nutrients that are really shit. |

Simon also contracts out some of his strains. He does not personally breed them. Claude is one of his seed growers..

my point is blaming then end user for Hermie or other issues when IMO it's the contracted seed makers that screwed it up. Im not saying Simon did this in fact I have had great customer service. Simon is not at fault it's the contracted seed makers that dont report issues to Simon. If you dont think other are making seeds for Simon your fooling yourself.. If your not in control of every seed make you could have issues down the line and we are seeing issues as the OP has stated..
I have seen plants grown by Claude they had such a bad case of powder mildew it was not good. these where the new Serious 6 seeds that never made the cut...I guess you did not know about him trying to make these seeds for Simon.

no my experience with serious seeds ended 4 years ago but up to that time the only problem i had was with the white russian. the serious 6 was a dismal failure in that it would not retain its stable trait and the hermies come from the FEM lines being produced.
all seedbanks have there ups and downs, at SS my handle was ghostrider as it is at TMF which i took over when i left SS and 1/3 of the growers with me. after that i would return at times to see it slowly but surely loose ground. i was still in contact with simon and i support serious strains at my forum along with the good banks of today. i believe just over 200 test beans of the serious 6 were released within the european community. never have i had problems with the real ak-47 from SS. i dont buy from anyone 'cept the original breeder; not even dr. chronic. |

oh ya! when i reported the truth of the double pheno version of the 2008 white russian, is when i got the boot from SS. simon fucks with his strains to much. the kalimist, chronic and white russian; all have had strange happenings, maybe its ak-47's time.

I've been wondering if Simon was hands on any more. This is a sad day for me. White Russian is no longer #1 on my to do list.
