I hope everyone is having a great Christmas. I finally got the house empty and can get down to some serious bean poppin'. My Christmas gift to myself was GGG gear and I can't wait to see how these babies turn out. I have a Candy Drop, Leia OG and Willie Nelson. I can only run one strain at a time and it was a very difficult trying to decide which to run first. I changed my mind several times but in the end, I decided on the Candy Drop. I'll start the Leia OG next in about 8 weeks.
First, I would like to thank my partner in crime, the Gnome. You have it looking good in here bro. Nice pics, good healthy start. Now it's time for me to get in on the action. m4k has recommended scuffing these beans to increase germ rates. I was a tester for Mosca during the C-99 release. The cindy's have a real hard shell so we took an empty matchbox and lined it with sandpaper. Luckily, I still had my box. So after a few shakes, we dropped 10 Candy Drop beans into soak. Today is the new moon and I always germ on the new moon. I usually get excellent germ rates, so keep your fingers crossed, here we go! Merry Christmas everybody

First off, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and that Santa was good to ya this year.
Time to update what's happened with the GGG gear over Christmas Holiday. These beans have been some tough cookies to pop, not for the beginner. I started by soaking my 10 Candy beans early Saturday morning but after 48 hours only 4 of 10 had popped. At this point I figured I had nothing to loose, so I fished out the remaining beans and dried them off and prepared for a second scuff. This time I scuffed the beans by hand, taking the bean under my finger and rolling it over the sandpaper. Being very careful not to drag the bean as that would allow the sandpaper to cut too deep into the shell and destroy the seed. After a good roll, the beans were placed back in the soak. Just 12 hours later, 4 of the 6 had popped. Now we are getting somewhere! Repeated the process on the last two and in another 12 hours, one of the last 2 had popped. As of this morning, still no action on the last bean. But I can live with 9 out 10. The 9 seeds that popped were planted in a plastic seed tray with pro mix and given some pure mountain spring water. This morning it looks like the first sprout is trying to break the soil. No official sprouts so we aren't out of the woods yet but everything is looking a lot better. Still keeping my fingers crossed until we have sprouts. I'll get a pic up later today. wsp
