Picture Editing Software reccommendations?
hello, does anyone wanna reccommend some image editing software to me? I wan't a program as fast as paint but with the complexity of Photoshop CS (w/all plugins!!). i would like to air on the more simple side though. i want speed and cheapness instead of slow and elaborate, don't get me wrong though i am a huge fan of ps but im just not a professional image editor |

I was in the same boat but I had used U-Lead PhotoImpact 2 for years but it was time for an updated picture editing program. I looked at all of them. I even read some reviews on the different "leading" programs. Well, after looking at everything from ease of use, price, support and the like, I settled on Microsoft's Digital Image Suite 9. I got it on Ebay for less than half of normal retail price, I think it was CMEMORY @ around $30 or so for a FULL, LEGAL, registerable, retail program in the original box. Having used their older Picture It program I was looking forward to seeing what Redmond had accomplished with an update or three long the way. No matter what you think of MS they do a good job on what they focus on and this program is no different, it's GREAT! Easy to figure out and use and you can do anything to an image that you could probably do with something WAY more expensive like any Adobe product. I consider myself an intermediate image manipulator but Digital Image Suite makes me look like a pro. For the money and results, I doubt one could go wrong buying and using this program, imho of course. Good luck!! GD

photoshop elements is good and not too expensive.
irfanview is also a good, basic, free image editing software program. if you get into bittorents go ahead and get photoshop CS2 and all the plug-ins you'd ever want. LO |

Be sure to get a program that removes exif data... Your images could contain info such as serial number for your camera, which could possibly be traced to you...
