Unorthadox Jar Cure

ok, faint of heart be warned! and to all you purists out there, stop reading now!
I am asking about OTHER HERBS in your jar before or during the cure.
A little frankensence in with the kush anyone? How about a jar, kept full of rose petals until you put your crop in there? this is NOT the orange peel in the bag thing...that sucks...but... i have had some apple cured weed, where they kept cured herb in tubberware in the fridge with slices of apple, for 2 weeks, where they changed the apple everday...and it was smelly and tasting of apple (aroma, not flavor, but like when you can taste a smell)
For those of us who love pure organic weed, this seems traitorous
now before you all start and at this idea, just think about it. If you are of the school where you dont want nothing in your weed but your good weed, then let it be so...but this is a thread to solicit those of us who may plunge into such an adulteration...
i have here a little sample nug chilling with a gram of jamaicain cinnamon. hmmm.

Anyone got any special blends out there? I heard that back in the day they would whiskey cure weed when it was drying by just spraying some bourbon or whiskey on it...just like they do with tobabco. Other ideas i've had are speariment in the jar, lavandar in the jar, frankensence, kaffir lime leaves, hops.... its all about moderation and experimentation...which is central to every other aspect of my grow habits...
PeAce Peeps! Lets here about your curing experiments! Im not talking adding chemicals or anything too crazy...just a little eyedeeuh

well, i have done the whiskey cure... it was kinda of cool but wasn't worth the effort methinks.

I used a larger size tupperware container and made a make shift shelf out of some popsicle sticks. Put the weed on the shelf and poured 1oz of Jameson 25 (delicious straight) into the bottom so the whiskey never hit the weed. Changed it as often as i could remember over the course for 3 weeks (used about 15oz's in the end, kinda of expensive eh?)

At first taste right out of the container it was strange, chemical and not pleasant, harsh too. So i let another taster sit in a cardbox box for 2 hours then tasted. Much much better. Like you said the aroma is what hits you...

but you have to remember, 65% of your taste IS what you smell

Ok so if I had a TON of weed then I MIGHT test this but as long as I smoke more than I grow I have no need to ruin my herbs.

Ok
well, i would never ruin my herb. that means i wont let it rot or put something disgusting in there...so...as far as it seems, everyone at IC is all orthodox and by the book when it comes to weed.
TO ALL YOU PURISTS...HAVE YOU EVER CURED TWO DIFFERENT STRAINS IN ONE JAR? HOW DID THAT TURN OUT FOR YOU? i like to mix things up in my jar(s). Anyone else? Please dont flame this thread, go try what i am proposing before you just bash it

ogrefugee...that is interesting how you did your rum cure. when i have done it and the way i know they do it with backy is to actualyl put some booze on the plant material and let it dry. Its pretty good, a little harsh, but adds a unique flavor. I have done this to "flakes" of shwag off of a brick and it can help add some boquet to an otherwise bland smoke. Its funny how people will put all kinds of shit in their plants via wierd animals for organics or god knows where from chemical fert mixes and trust the plant to sort it self, but im just trying to extend the deliciousness and getting bad vibes from folks who aint even gone to try this! o well, everyone should suit themselves. Im gonna go toss a couple of whole nutmeg and clove in with some cheap beasters I picked up. I dont think it will "ruin" it.

Yea sure, have cured mixed indicas (each large bud labeled of course) together in the same 1 gal jar. Each strain TASTES different, but they all smell pretty much the same in the baggie. The colors are like they should be for each particular strain, i.e. blue mystic was light blue-ish/green, the HK was a dark green etc.

Anyhwo, I don't notice much difference, hope this helps.

I have used both mint leaves and cloves with pleasant results.

once i overdried a jar of herb and to put a bit of moisture back into it i put a 1 cm square piece of fresh orange peel with 1 drop of pure essential oil of orange. the whole jar of weed had a very sweet organge smell after that , but it didnt transfer to the taste. I have wondered if some of the properties of other organic plant oils (eg, frankinscence which is spiritual and deepens breathing as well as being very physicaly healing, or orange, which is calming and antidepressant etc) could be mixed with cannabis , but i find the best way is to vaporise the essential oils in the room and enjoy them that way , and have a joint at the same time. They actually produce a low thc cannabis essential oil for use in aromatherapy, ive not tried it , but it's supposed to have gentle calming/sedative properties. It seems aromatherapy essential oils work on a more subtle level , although I've got very high and stoned using Clary sage oil in a massage mix...I was mildly tripping with pleasant body rushes for about 12 hrs ,an experience that was repeated several times, but other times i've used the same oil and felt nothing. sorry if i went a bit off topic
