Here is a half assed attempt at a flowering journal. Im a bit late as I didnt get any good pics before day 19 of 12/12. I have been on a hunt for a special pheno I had a few years ago and I think I may have gotten lucky so I figured I'd document my journey.


Here is a few details of the grow

8x5 tent
1k HPS horizontal
Organic recycled soil
Organic Fertilizer

I have not fed them yet but yesterday I laid down an organic top dress and a nice layer of leaf mulch so next watering they'll be getting some food.

SSH pheno 1
tall lanky sativa
Has the most stretch of the 3



All 3 day 19 12/12

SSH pheno 2
Good stretch, stiffer branches than pheno 1, leaves are a bit wider



SSH pheno 3
finicky, not much stretch
I cant seem to make her happy, I treat her the same as ll the rest but hard to grow in comparison.
Oddly enough I feel this one will be my keeper

Iron, I have never grown out ssh but have always wanted too, it'll be nice to see someone that is currently documenting her growth very helpful thanks man, you'll probably inspire me to splurge on a couple packs, best of luck on your hunt!

Thanx for stopping by Otto. After checking out your NL5Hz thread I almost feel like that is going to be a better strain. SSH is a total crap shoot with pheno's. I've grown a few over the years an almost every one has been different.

Check out my other SSH thread to see the awful 20 week phenos I had last winter, shit that takes that long is just impractical and shouldnt even be in a $150 pack of seeds.

Im after the frankincense and I think I found it in #3, which means I have my keeper for life. Moving on to NL5Hz next, I like all the wide leafs I see in your thread, would be nice if they come with shorter flowering times.

Which pheno are you after? Frankinsence? I have one that turns silver that goes ~10 weeks that is a power hitter!

if i could find a "catspiss/skunky" even 10 week pheno ill be happy....not askin much am i !!lol....im doing em next to some super lemon haze(not a fem fan meself but ive been told over n over to try em!!)

blah..... the curse of bad luck strikes again, last night I went into my veg closet and found a chem sour male that flowered under 24hrs lighting. looks like a 2 male flowers opened up, hopefully no pollen made it into my flower tent. if I lose this crop Im going to be f#ckin pissed as these plants had 60-90 veg's.

I swear no matter how on top of things you are 1 or 2 lazy days can really fuck you over. To think think male would have auto'd on me was the last thing on my mind as I've had him in veg for over 6 months.

In lighter news, I bought a new reflector and ditched my cool tube, it really seems to light up the grow area more evenly.

I had a very special SSH back in like 07-08 I am hoping to find again. Been slowly going thru a pack of SSH over the years have yet to see it pop up again, most of what I have found has been long flowering crap, well good weed just crap because they take so damn long. I had a few last winter that took 20 weeks 12/12, which is horse shit.

I want to try Mr Nice's SSH but I've been seeing a lot of reports of long flowering times lately. The last version I tried was Greenhouse Seeds. Years back I found a bad ass pheno out of a 5 pack that finished and looked EXACTLY as they advertise it.This was around '07-'08. I tried a few more beans and never got it again. My last SSH pheno which I'm currently smoking on took 15+ weeks to finish. There is never a bad pheno in terms of smoke or yield in my short experience with SSH so far, but 15 weeks, with some phenos going as long as 20+ weeks is just too long. 13 weeks is the longest I can practically go with in a strain. I still want to try Mr Nice's though. Can't wait to see your final product. You have some great plants and phenotypes growing!
