First, I should have asked this before. I know i've been asking and posting info about spain in this forum, but i hope the spanish speaking members don't mind this in English. Thanks and here's what i found from the company that is going to help me find a place in Spain.

Owning a Property on the Costa de La Luz

Although foreign buyers don't have to become resident in Spain they do have to apply for an NIE (Numero de identification de Extranjero) number through their lawyer.

Apart from insuring one's properties other fees and taxes have to be paid:

IBI Tax
This is a real estate tax (local rates) levied by the local town hall and is usually 0.85% of the catastral (rateable) value.

Property Income Tax
Non resident natural persons owning real estate in Spain for private purposes will be taxed at the rate of 25% of the supposed profit (rental income) produced by the property and this supposed profit is calculated at the rate of 2% of the catastral value.

Property Wealth Tax
This tax is calculated as between .2% and .25% of the highest of the following values:

1. The catastral value
2. The value estimated by the tax authorities
3. The purchase price 'declared' on the title deed.

Community Fees
These are paid to the Community of Owners for services and maintenance of communal areas when the property is located in a development or condominium.

* Offshore Companies owning property in Spain pay a fixed rate of 3% of the catastral value instead of the Property Income and Wealth Taxes

Gracias cada uno para la ayuda. Conseguí un software de traducción y el tratar de aprender tan mucho español no, antes de hacer del salto. Este es alguna información que encontré en una compañía de bienes inmuebles que yo podría usar. Voy a formar una compañía/corporación, porque comenzaré un negocio ahí. Sorry, I haven't looked into that as of yet. I'm more worried about buying my real estate right now. I can deal with a small seed venture at first and will look into legal business. As of now, i'm looking and talking to Hydroponic Wholesaler's out of UK to supply Hydro store in Cadiz or close to Cadiz. If i find or hear anything. I'll make sure to post the info. I'm going to be meeting with a couple of Big seed companies once i get there and finding out the true about the business. My store will stock seeds from the major vender's for walkin sale's only. No internet sale's at all. I should be able to know more once i talk to a few Big Wig's over there. Sorry, wish i could help you, but i'll know more early 2007. I might even be there by this Dec. Will see what happen in the next few months. Good luck on your quest and if your ever over there. I'll be posting info to my store once it opens. Then i'll ask any member to stop in and say high. Well, i'll post any info i can find, but i doubt it will be till later.
