I was inspired by Soma again this trip to the Dam and his honey oil was superb this time. I smoked large quantities of his Amnesia Haze oil (pic to be uploaded for this soon) and it was cherry red. Soma showed his expertise in his high grade oil and so I had to emulate my master guru when I got home to Bogland.

When I saw this pic I knew something big was up! I used a couple oz of bogglegum buds and 3/4 oz of kif to make this 15 grams of oil. Can you see how our universe formed? In some dudes honey oil pot? I think I just made another!

i never had any oil before. is this the stuff you make with butane gas?

it that made by evaporating achohol with thc and cooking it over a stove then draining the herb out with a filter and cooking off the rest of the achohol?

It is made using butane and Soma taught me his secret for getting all the butane out of the oil without an alcohol wash. My master guru has blessed me with his wisdom shared freely and now I give credit where credit is due.

Only a beautiful man could create something so beautiful as this bud and this hash oil from it. Bowing to Soma may give me a sore back but humility is a quality he also shows. By his example do I hope to learn and grow.

His winning sativa at the 420 IC Growers Cup 2004... "Amnesia Haze" and now his oil... BOG :o

Butane extraction could ruin your day and I don't teach this process anymore but, if you know how I will tell you the final step.

I had trouble getting all the butane out of my oil so I had been doing an alcohol wash. Soma taught me that this wasn't necessary or desirable.

What you do is place your extracted oil in a steel bowl and float that in a pan of water on the electric stove. This double boiler method allows the oil to reach a temperature of about 200 degrees for a period of time. Stir occasionally and check the oil with a flame to see if any butane is still coming out...

If you keep the oil hot enough for a long enuf time you can make oil so pure that the taste is smooth and not harsh or sour at all. BOG

I need to upload more of my pics...

It helps to make a lotta oil if you have lots of kif to use. I lace the buds with kif first then do the extraction. 2 batches made me about 25 grams of honey oil.

if you overheat it for too long, all the flavor goes away, and a portion of the potency too. it is a fine line.
