LED drivers- technical question....
Hi,
I have build LED light and it's powered by 3 led drivers=3 sockets are used so each of them is using it's own mains socket. Here is my question: Can I connect together these two drivers( so I will use only one mains socket for them) Driver 1: Input -220-240V 0.17A maximum 35W max freq- 50-60Hz PF: 0.95 OUTPUT 50.0 Vdc max 700 mAdc 30W max Driver 2: INPUT 220-240V 0.2Amax 36W 50-60HZ PF: 0.9 Output 36V 700 mAdc 25W max They both have nearly exactly same input just output is a bit different in Voltage and Watts. What would like to know: 1; Can I simply put together 2x positive and 2x negative from a drivers and then join it with positive and negative from a mains socket ??? 2; Can I then join positive and negative from a drivers--> one long lead through my cabinet --> separate them to 2x positive and 2 negative for driving two separate led circuits ? There should be no problem with feeding both of the drivers off of one supply (mains) line. The output from the drivers would need to remain separated, there is far too much difference in the output levels to parallel them. From my experience, the only way that power supplies can be put in parallel is if they are identical in all respects. Hope this helps, if anyone has a different experience please jump in.

After giving it more thought, I doubt that it would work to parallel the outputs even if they were identical. The power supplies that I have had experience with doing this were all voltage-limiting, not current-limiting. I don't see how it could work with multiple current-limiting devices, which is what LED drivers are. It seems like a recipe for uncontrollable output oscillation!

Thanks for help mate :-)
Got it all connected and running. My main concern was 3 main plugs for 3 drivers but that's sorted and I'm running all of them from 1 socket and then separated to three separate cables leading to drivers.
