Former Detroit Top Cop Changes His Mind
https://metrotimes.com/mmj/top-cop-ch...mind-1.1226308
Still, the fact that people smoked marijuana and didn't become derelicts made an impression on McKinnon, who says, "These were professional people and they were normal people and it didn't drive them crazy as people say. Which is just the opposite of people who use heavier drugs like heroin and cocaine, you can see a major difference in them." Well, it is a slow process, and one by one they are coming around. As always "I WILL" stand vigilant and continue my support and continue to fight the good fight. Peace & Happiness To All. Bozzie

the problem here is that its a RETIRED cop, retired cops often express their own views rather than what the police force wants them to say. we need more on duty cops thinking like this and not afraid to express how they feel

Uh, most Detroit cops feel this way. Herb is practically legal in the d. You're not getting in trouble unless you have a lot or you piss the cop off.

Sure not impressed with this type of guy. Nothing says powerful ally like an "ex" cop. Just once, could someone that actually can do anything for us be a "current" police chief, a "sitting" judge or a "serving" politician? Why must they always wait until after the paycheck ends to show some intestinal fortitude? Anyone that would persecute then "turn" is probably a weasel that would "turn" again if the price was right.

It's risky for a cop to speak out against prohibition. He can easily be fired, or made so miserable he quits.
leap.cc, law enforcement against prohibition, is an interesting website. There actually are quite a few working cops with the balls to speak out. Not enough, but the more who do the better.
