That is not even a good way to cure buds much less seeded bud..
Go with the slow dry, storage container cure........... Take care.....................CC |

i agree with crip, there are some advantages in water cure but not many and not really worth it....your nice green buds will look like brown schwag. slow dry and cure them ladies in a glass jar!!!

I have never heard that you cannot water curing seeded buds but have never tried it. I have water cured and while overall I agree a slow jar cure is better that is a personal preference and I can see times when a WC makes sense.
Both of the prior posts are correct in that a WC does make the weed look brown, but that is because it removes all the chlorophyl which causes the harshness. Additionally, it removes almost all of the flavor of the smoke which I find a big part of the experience. And finally the overall weight dired weight is lower, BUT not the overall THC which actually raises the THC content. All curing is a personal prefernce and if a WC is right for you than it is a viable way to cure, however having tried it several times I have come to see that I prefer the taste and vibrant colors of a slow cure. The best analogy I can come up with is you go to the store and buy a nice thick expensive steak (uncooked steak = just picked buds). Now when it is time to cook it you can take 25 mins on the grill or in an oven (jar cure) or you can throw it in the microwave for 10 mins (water cure). Both ways will get you a cooked steak that you can eat but one way will produce a more enjoyable experience during the process. |

yeah thats all true.....when you have to comprimise yield, smell and taste i don't find it worth it. the advantages i see is you don't need to flush your plants before harvest, and it's faster.....maybe water cure some so you have smoke right away but do the slow cure with the other half or something....then u get to try both and have smoke right away so you can be patient on the slow cure.

I water cure any buds I'm going to use for cooking, and also some for my 'stealth stash' for public smoking. Yeah, it kills taste and bag appeal, but also affects the burnt odor, so I can smoke in public without a strong telltale odor. Of course, my 'stealth' smokes are also machine rolled with a bit of high quality tobacco in the mix - I doubt a hand rolled joint of straight bud would allow the illusion.
Since I germinate my seeds in a cup of water, I'd definately say NO to water curing seeded buds. Seems it would make your seeds sprout and die being in water 7 days.

Ya, Honestly.... If you flush your plants well before harvest and dont use a ton of ferts then you should have some really tasty and smooth smoke after a proper dry/cure.
