Is there any way to slightly alter the chemical makeup of natural cannabis?

In my country with all the new legal highs coming out, each one has to be tested to be determined if it is safe for public consumption.

But the thing is, drugs that are already classified are not able to be tested eg. cannabis, alcohol, tobacco, MDMA.
All the synthetic cannabis products just have a slight difference in the chemical makeup... would it be possible to slightly alter natural cannabis so that it is able to be tested?
Because we all know it would pass right?

Id probably call it THA for awesome.
