Zone Alarm? Tune Up Pro? Secunia PSI?
so I bought a new computer tower last night, nothing fancy just an eMachines $300 unit. a friend stopped by to help me set it up and wanted to put several programs on it, the programs listed in the title: Zone Alarm, Tune Up Pro and Secunia PSI claiming it will run faster, safer etc. I called and asked my service provider about these downloads and was warned against them, what experience if any does anyone have with these downloads? In the past I've run Malwarebytes, AVG and Superantispyware which my prover has recommended once again. Thanks for any input....... |

From experience, take that CRAP off. It's space wasting and does more harm then good.

SpywareBlaster(JavaCool Software), SpyBot Search and Destroy, avast! Anti-Virus, ZoneAlarm, All Free Versions and have worked like a charm for me for a few years now

I go with AVG, SpyBot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware.
I actually am a slight computer nerd, and these wont steer you wrong. If you go with these ( all free ) there will be a warning that adaware isnt compatible with spybot but just dont worry about it. Go to Cnet to download them because where you download means more than what your downloading when it comes to safety. |

The best IMO if you downloading a lot or visiting questionable blogs: ESET NOD and MSE.
As soon as a new virus is identified they send an update to registered users. As opposed to others which collect new fixes and send out in batches... ZoneAlarm was the best in it's day. I am sure they'll be back on top. |
