A week in the fridge will trick the beans into thinking winter has come and passed.

When you germ them after, you will have better results.

Good advice, this does work for some strains that due to their inherent genes prefer to be overwintered like would occur in nature with winter.

Not necessary in my experience with pure Tooth beans as none of the Swt #4 IBL ever went into the fridge at all, but some crosses could require this if you want to pop them very shortly after harvest it just all depends really on where you are and what the temps are and so on. In the case you are going to do this I would dry at warm room temps for at least 10 days or so & then into a fridge (sealed well from moisture & light of course) for at least the same amount of time, then remove and let them come to room temps for a day or so and you should get a nice high germination rate. If that does not work then they just need to be stored for longer and in a few months max time will be ready to go.
