If they are super fresh and just dried then as we discussed before they may need more time to "cure" or even a little time in the fridge possibly to get 100% germination or close to it. I made a bunch of Lowryder incrossed seeds just for fun and to give to friends awhile back and got very low germ rates on them freshly dried right out of the buds but after a few weeks curing and then putting them in the fridge for awhile now they literally jump right out of their shells when they make contact with any moisture and if I stick 10 in soak overnight then there will be ten tails poking out for sure in 24-48 hours guaranteed.

So it is somewhat strain dependent because usually with pure Sweet Tooth for example after a good week long drying in the buds then just a few days alone out in the open & warm (low RH) air combined with a good 10 day cure in a cool dark place will yield very high rates near 100% and nothing further is needed and no fridge required either other than of course for long term storage. In fact the IBL stock has never been in a fridge at all on my end. Just a cool dark place and they were given proper time to mature on the mother plant which is really important as well even more so then the drying & curing.

This short curing process is why when people are done making seeds you don't see them just magically appear at seedbay that same week because there is (as many of you know) a further proper drying & curing process to assure a high % of perfect sproutability and thus the eventual edibility of said salad toppers.

But now 4 out of 8 ain't bad so far dude and I am guessing even more will sprout, but I know these kind of just happened and we don't know exactly how long they matured on the plant from pollination and that can impact their totally viability overall. Yep but at least you got some going man and you have plenty more right.

Thanks for the info SOTF! I must have missed that conversation previously. I do remember you telling me about the initial curing of the salad toppers, but wasnt sure about how that affected the germination...and now I know! Here's a few photos of some the sprouts, and the beans i've collected.

The mother plant from these beans had almost 5 full weeks to ripen up the seeds, i've got lot's of really nice tiger striped ones and a few immature ones that just arent as dark tan to brown. Overall i'm happy with the quality of 80% of these organic salad toppers. Peace and much love! Stagger

I see some nice tiger stripers in there man! Nice! You can just gently squeeze any of the lighter colored ones and see if they crack under pressure not too hard but pinch test them enough to make sure they are solid. All salad toppers should undergo a rigorous close inspection prior to salad mixing

Thanks Bueno really hoping for some nice variation, I feel I can expect it due to the 3 males chosen, sooo... should be some differences in phenos! Only 4 of the 8 beans popped ( still too fresh of seed i'm thinkin) but I planted those 4 today and am continuing to soak the other's just in case they do happen to pop, never know!
