Jacks Professional
JR Peters Inc, more specifically Jacks Professional, is probably my favorite synthetic nutrient company and its for one very simple reason: Price. Nothing beats the price of Jacks Professional and quality is like it says, professional grade. They are a powder-only company that has over 60 different mixes, none custom made for marijuana, but many are just as good as 'plant specific' nutrients. Below is a list of products in the Jacks Professional line that have potential use for marijuana growing.
(N-P-K) [Ratio Simplified] {% Nitrogen in Nitrate form} *= Personal Favorites Jacks Pro Hydroponic (5-12-26) [1-2.5-5] {100%}* https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...ydroponic.html {to be used in conjunction with Calcium Nitrate a.k.a. Calcinit} Jacks Pro Blossom Booster (10-30-20) [1-3-2] {50%} https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...m-Booster.html {more Mg than Jacks Classic Blossom Booster} Jacks Pro Tropical Foliage (24-8-16) [3-1-2] {35%} https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...l-Foliage.html Jacks Pro Peat-Lite (15-11-29) [3-2-6] {72%} https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...Peat-Lite.html Jacks Pro Pot Mum Finisher (15-10-30) [3-2-6] {53%} https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...-Finisher.html Jacks Pro Orchid RO-Type Water (12-3-15) [4-1-5] {97%}* https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...ype-Water.html Jacks Pro Orchid Well Water (16-4-20) [4-1-5] {76%}* https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...ell-Water.html Jacks Special Finisher (17-5-26) [3.5-1-5] {60%} https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...-Finisher.html Jacks Pro Low Acid Peat-Lite (17-5-24) [3.5-1-5] {69%} https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...Peat-Lite.html Jacks Poinsettia FEed + Mg (17-5-19) [3.5-1-4] {63%} https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...-FeED--Mg.html Jacks Poinsettia FEed + CaMg (15-4-15) [3.5-1-3.5] {81%}* https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...ED--Ca-Mg.html Jacks Pure Water LX (17-4-17) [4-1-4] {78%}* https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...-Water-LX.html Jacks Hydro Herb FEed (16-4-17) [4-1-4] {76%}* https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...Herb-FeED.html Jacks All Purpose LX (21-5-20) [4-1-4] {62%} https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...urpose-LX.html Jacks Mum FEed (22-5-16) [4.5-1-3] {57%} https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac.../Mum-FeED.html Jacks Pro High Performance (25-5-15) [5-1-3] {57%} https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...rformance.html Jacks Pro General Purpose (20-10-20) [2-1-2] {60%} https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...l-Purpose.html Jacks Pro Poinsettia Finisher (15-20-25) [3-4-5] {63%} https://www.jrpeters.com/Products/Jac...-Finisher.html Two things to keep in mind: Some of Jacks mix's can have large amounts of Nitrogen in the form of Urea or Ammoniacal Nitrogen, where Marijuana tends to like most Nitrogen in the form of Nitrate Nitrogen, and most of Jacks products are formulated for soil application so some products can have insufficient amounts of secondary nutrients (Ca, Mg, S) so some Epsom Salts (Magnesium Sulfate) or Cal-Mag might be necessary for a better nutrient profile. LETS THROW AROUND SOME NUMBERS TO SHOW THE TRUE VALUE OF JACKS PROFESSIONAL MaxiBloom is considered by many growers to be one of the cheapest nutrient options available. But is this true? Lets compare MaxiBloom to Jacks Professional to find out. We'll make the MaxiBloom purchase as cheap as possible for the comparison, just for kicks. When buying 50lbs of MaxiBloom (bulk is cheapest) online you should be able to get around the price of $250 (shipping and handling included) or ~$5.00 a lb of MaxiBloom When buying Jacks Professional online (lets go bulk as well), practically ANY product can be purchased in the 25lb size for ~$50 varying on where you live ($29 + Shipping on average) or ~$2.00 a lb of Jacks Professional when only having to buy 50% of the amount and pay 20% of the price to get "bulk value" as compared to MaxiBloom 50lbs MaxiBloom = ~$250 (250% of the price of Jacks Professional) 50lbs Jacks Professional= ~$100 (40% of the price of MaxiBloom, or for you on-sale shoppers, 60% off!) To further the comparison let's say to make those 50lbs of Jacks Professional we bought 25 lbs of Jacks Pro Hydro 5-12-26 and 25lbs of Jacks Pro Blossom Booster 10-30-20. When the 2 said products are mixed 50/50 their N-P-K-Mg-S copies MaxiBloom almost exactly, although the Jacks mix is about 50% stronger and missing Calcium. Use Calcium Nitrate [Calcinit] or Calcium Carbonate [CALiMAGic] depending on desired N levels and hardness of water. trust me, even when buying that extra product you're saving lots of money, let me prove it to you. (N-P-K-Mg-S) Jacks Professional Hydro is 5.0-12-26-6.3-8.2 Jacks Pro Blossom booster is 10-30-20-2.0-0.0 mixed at a 50/50 ratio gives you 7.5-21-23-4.1-4.1. simplify that by 33.3% and you get 5.0-14-15-2.8-2.8 (50/50 Jacks Mix) as compared to 5.0-15-14-3.5-4.0 (MaxiBloom) And its only 26.6% the price when increased concentration is taken into account!!! again for any on-sale shoppers, 73.3% off! O.K. so its got a little less Magnesium Sulfate in the mix... if only we knew what magnesium sulfate is and where to get it.... o wait. Mixing is slightly more complicated than mixing just 7g/Gallon of MaxiBloom, slightly, and only as difficult to mix as any 2 part nutrient. Add you source of calcium as suggested above and some magnesium sulfate as desired and you got yourself MaxiBloom at lets say 33% the price that has significantly more flexibility (especially if you decide to get Calcium Nitrate and use with Jacks Hydro 5-12-26) |

I've seen some real nice grows with 3 grams per gallon of the Jacks hydro and 2 grams per gallon of the cal nitrate. I've used this cal nitrate before and is real good for the price. https://www.cropking.com/HydroponicSu...415e8a72df5173 I'm going to try with my current strain to see if 7 grams of the Jacks hydro in your typical 5 gallon dwc (3-3.5 gl of nutes) will be strong enough plus the calnitrate. If 7 grams is enough I should get 1600 nute changes or 1 every week for 30 years out of a 25lb bag of the Jacks hydro. |

At 3 grams and 2 grams what were they growing in? Soil, hydro or coco.

This is what I am using atm. I'm almost out of ProTekt at which point I will switch to AgSil16. That will drop the price to $0.80 for a 24 gallon res.

I've seen pics of people using it for hydro and coco and I bet it would be fine for soil, is it ok to post links to other grow sites? There's some good info on Jacks Hydroponic out there that I could post the links to.

I don't think you can post links, but I'm not sure.

I ditched MaxiBloom last run, I couldn't take it any more. All the fucking shaking & shaking & still having white stuff floating around the bottom, I just couldn't deal with it as I am often in a rush to water at lights on & then gtfo of dodge.
I switched to Jacks blossom booster 10/30/20 & haven't looked back, it dissolves INSTANTLY in water at ambient temps, only problem is the lack of calcium, so I give 'em some cal-mag every now & again. The tub came with a little sales pitch brochure, it said something along the lines "watch how instantly it dissolves, that's how you know it's a quality fertilizer". I tend to agree, and the plants do as well....... Currently running ecsd, chem-4, chem-d, and cheezle, all on the same regiment. I am pretty close to finishing and have had ZERO run-off this grow. Promix HP, I PH everything to 5.8, my tap is 90 ppm's 8.5ph & is said to contain lots of calcium even though it is very soft water.... Currently giving them around 1,500 ppm's avery 3rd watering, allthough I frequently adjust based on how much the plants are drinking, ie sometimes I will give a lighter feed every other other watering. Allthough on my new Vert room I have decided to give 500 ppm's every watering instead, it negates the need for PH adjusting, we'll see how it goes...... But anyways: Fuck Maxibloom! |
