Clear- THC is at it's peak but buds are not quite as dense. Buds give off a clear uppy high that doesn't last that long.

Clear/Cloudy- THC is on it's way down. Buds are alittle more heavier. The high is still heady but lasts alittle longer.

Cloudy- High begins to go towards the body.

Cloudy/Amber- High is half body and half heady. Total weight is pretty much maxed out.

Amber- THC has decomposed and he high is very couchlock. Buds are at it's max and aromas are probally the strongest at this point.

I usually harvest mine when the trichs are clear and cloudy or mostly cloudy. I like more of a heady energetic high.

I have never even looked at my trich's. I usually just guesstimate when my budd looks done. What kind of microscope do you need for that?

with my 25 year old eyes I can see the trichs with a 10x loupe. I think most people like to use a 30x scope.

I am on my first grow and it is very exciting to see the first few trichs going amber.

I think I will wait for about a 50/50 mix.

Imo 50% amber is getting on the late side. When trichs get amber they tend to be more brittle and subsequently subject to fall off. Click on the pic and you can see some of the amber compadres have left their clear headed bros.

Radio Shack carries a small handheld microscope for like $10. It works very well. Snip a small leaf off with trichs and check them out.
