Going thru my old grow log of Kali... Mine were very lemony and if my memory serves me correctly very Lemon Pledge, but only when disturbed. So strange and unique. I gave the Kali a 8.5... no no no. I got multiple reviews without the person knowing i was the grower and every one admitted it was the best herb to date they had tried. It's true. Kali Mist is a legend.
2007 Smoke Report ------------------------------- just got done drying. cured for 3 days. just wanted to post up a quick smoke report. smell: sickly, lemony, sweet. but odorless unless touched. great stealthy herb even after a dry. but when smarked... smoke has a funk to it. can't put my finger on it, though. not skunky. not lemony. like a mixture of it all. nothing i've smelled before. taste: i can't really comment. imma wait till it has a cure before i comment. high: jesus. very up, clear, giggly, talkative. come down was non existent. no crash and burn. overall. 8.5/10. imma make it a good 9.5 next go around. oh yeah yield: between two girls. almost a lb. i can not believe it. super fluff. but the yield is great! plus i have the other half of the girls to tend too. so by the end of this go around, i should hit that lb mark. lil taken back by the yield.

"Ubi sunt" the old flavours.
Good vibes to everybody...
I'm going to say something that probably sounds a little bit weird but it makes me often to look back to a time that no longer exists. The fact is around 1999 I bought a pack of Serious' kali Mist and I found a "roast liver" pheno. Believe me, that was delicious. Since I lost the clone I have bought at least other 5 packages in different years, have found some good phenotypes but never my "roast liver grial". I've already tried with some Western Winds's lots, but neither. Now I think that this phenotype doesn't exist anymore and I am never going to find it, less now with the changes in the lineage. Maybe it only exists in my memories. If anyone knows where might I look for, I'll very grateful with the info. |

No... Never tried to do that but for sure it is the way to get many phenos if you have the suitable genetics. The problem is that roast liver flavour was in the old Pre-2000, never seen a pheno like this in advance.
I'm going to try it with my last and old W.W. beans that are already germinated, so, it will takes time. Even without knowing exactly if this one will be the right place to search. Greets. |

Dunno about the effect, but Serious says 70-90 days flowering. It depends on the phenotype, apparently. If you're growing clones from a 70 day mother they'll all be the 70 day pheno, of course.

I do not use a loupe to judge maturity, you can see it from several feet away, not millimetres, look at the state (how swollen) the calyx are and the overall colour of the resin, early on it is like clear glass, later on it looks more like Titanium, a grey/purple tinge. These pictures are of Hazy Lady's C99 x Tom Hill Haze, not Kali, but fairly similar schnizzle yo. This is Kali, a large plant I trained out 10ft wide, one side got her trunk chewed by the old icannotrememberwhatmonster monster meaning it got less nutrients and was dying off faster than the other side. No great difference in smoke. Finally, not perfect, but to give you an idea... Kali 08 Nov Kali Mist 27 Nov. This was taken late despite Police Thieves, storms, hurricane shit, cold, Mist because at this stage, the quality is as good as it gets, IMO.

Thanks, Chaos. Your Kali is def ready in the last pic. I merely wish I could grow outdoors. Being relatively new at indoors, it's very much a different proposition. I can't change the weather to aid in maturation so I suspect that some tropical varieties may want to keep flowering for a very long while.
