i didn't post the state in the title(NY) so to keep this a little low key
wouldn't want to focus any negative attention
anyways, i see this outdoor bust for about 600 plants
good sized grow, and i'm thinking they'd be reasonably sized plants at this time of year
they broke the plants/cultivators into a few separate groups, one group was charged for illegal mj cultivation of 300 plants
the charge? misdemeanor growing of mj - that is mighty gentle IMHO
NY can be mj friendly at times

so the actual blotter, here's what i read

HUDSON, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say they've charged seven people with growing nearly 600 marijuana plants police found in five rural Columbia County towns on or near the Massachusetts border.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says 576 pot plants were seized during three raids between Aug. 19 and 26 in the towns of Canaan, Claverack, Copake, Ghent and New Lebanon. Officials say most of the plants - more than 300 - were found in Copake and New Lebanon.

Authorities have charged seven men ranging in age from 51 to 57 with unlawfully growing cannabis, a misdemeanor. All are from Columbia County.

A helicopter crew from the Massachusetts Army National Guard aviation unit based in Westfield, Mass., helped the sheriff's department locate the pot plants.

that crossed my mind too, shows you 1 more aspect of the failed MJ war
parts of the northeast have barely recovered from the tropical storm weather we got a few weeks ago
and spotting for MJ is still a priority? completely FUBAR

exactly brother !!!!! they wanna help out .... let them help with the clean up down there instead of fuckin with a few plants .
which is most likely what got them spotted in the first place ( flying over storm damaged areas .) but it is what it is i guess .

the plus side is .... not everybody got nailed & not all was found
