Ghaa I cant even get my seeds started right, this time I put 4 in jiffy pots and none have poped out yet and its been 7 days now. This sucks.

Also I am allmot out of seeds and dont want to risk any more of my good seeds to whatever is killing my seeds before they pop. The one good one looks wilted and has just now gotten its first set of real leaves. I can only water them once a day damnnit!

does anyone have experience growing nirvana early misty, afghaan, papaya, and swiss miss. These are the strains I will be trying this year. Any unforseen problems i should know about these strains? I will be starting seeds the first week of may. All comments are welcome

Deft, try this: Pre-soak seeds 12-24 hrs in a glass of water w/ a drop of Thrive Alive, or any organic veg fertilizer. Then place beans on damp paper towel, (not wet, squeeze out excess water) put on a plate, then put a ziploc bag over them and put in a dark, warm spot. Check in 12 hrs for tap roots. Avoid touching tap roots when you plant. Jiffy pots are great, but use a humidity dome if possible the 1st wk or so.
Do you have them in a window or under lights? Watering them once a day sounds excessive unless they're baking dry in the sun. The humidity dome will prevent this. Good luck!
Just presoaked my beans yesterday, in the paper towel now, w/ Jiffy pots now soaking.
Trev, I usually wait til mid May to put them outside. Still real cool temps at night that will stunt growth. Cold frames will allow you to get 'em out a bit earlier and adapt to the outdoors.
New moon tomorrow, great time to plant!

I'll try one drop peroxide in the towel not near the seed, and see how it goes, I only have one freebie seed left.

Anyone get creamed by the rain? My PP seeds didn't pop. Couple split but no vigor. Started some Biddy Early f2's a kind and generous member here bestowed on me the 1st wk of May. Too small yet to be outside. Probably won't get into thier permanent holes til mid june.
What's everyone else up to?
