"O.K there has been much debate on the board in reference to this subject. So I did some research, and this is one tidbit of useful information I would like to share.

A quotation from Dreher’s testimony – “You know, people ask me all the time whether I think marijuana should be legalized, and I have been of the opinion for a long time that this is much ado about nothing. It is, compared to tobacco and alcohol, this is such a benign substance.

i smoked while i was pregnant did'nt agree with me smoking the cigerette but for me the marijuana helped me relax and feel at eaze, with any kicks and kinder made me laugh when baby did kick cause it felt weird but also my child is now 2 has had no problems that first children, are meant to have and she is healthier and eats well and is taller than any other kid her age and im short, her dads not to tall. so it must be that she is healthy and fit and well and a very active kid...

I caught alot of heat debating this issue when I came to IC , And justifyably so . let me start by apologizing to those I rubbed the wrong way it was not my intent . Its just I have seen hopelessness at every turn in the enviroment I was raised , An when I see this goin on by teenage girls or adults who have no knowledge of the medicinal qualities of mary jane an are just lookin to get high , I loose it . An with that said thats the place ranted from , An eviroment where being black an uneducated is hard enuf . An to see these young ladys do that , To me kind of help stack a bad deck higher perpetuating a problem that runs deep . I have freinds who recently delivered an all of them had premature babys . And Im smart enuf not to attribute that to mary ..... diet , prenatal care , etc could have been the culprit joined wit weed consumption as all of these are a
problem in mid in lower class . And the ladys im referencing are all related , But when someone ask how things went wit the baby they say the baby had complications an it was probably the weed
I.... I think wow uknew that might be problematic an still did it .
Icmag has had a profound impact on my life of living an learning an hoping one day to contribute something worthwhile back . well my mom was a pot head and still is she smoked the whole time hell she said after i was born if i was to fussy in the crib shed light one up and make sure to blow some my way to calm me down. cant say that im normal but who the hell is i can still walk talk and chew gum at the same time so you tell me. i have been also thinking or wondering that add or addhd might possibly might possibly be tied in to prego smoking doubt it but its the only thing i can think of in my situation. not that all add or addhd kids came from smoking parents. so my vote is this its fine. with that being said while pregnant you should do any activity in somewhat of moderation.

as helpful as this post is i could never even imagine thinking of smoking a cigarette during pregnancy.

i really feel even though it is probably completely safe, you shouldnt be smoking anything period during pregnancy.. why even take that chance with your child. its not a science experiment.

no offense to those who have but i really feel you should try to stay as clean as you can be until its popped out.

i mean i would only want the best for my child, i think i could set aside smoking substances for that alone until its born at least, its only 9 months.

its also no secret marijuana does affect your memory and i wouldnt want to have anything related to that happening during my childs crucial brain development.. regardless of how harmless it is, it does have an effect.

one thats just not so noticeable i can promise you that.

no its not a science experiment on my child i have smoked since the age of 12 and cant really seem to or want to put it down as it has helped me get through some bad yrs and dont agree with acholisiam as my mother is an alcholic and smokes too! so i have been around it all my life and dont see a problem with the use of marijuana i just wished i had smoked it pure or used a volcanoe due to not wanting my child to get harmed i know a lot of people have had problems with smoking and smoking the substance tabacco and never known any problems or anything due to marijuana being a main cause of something bad in the pregnancy i think its alcohol and tabbacco that does it... but i did't have any problems and would'nt wish for anyone to either.. and am glad i did'nt.. that does mean i'm telling people to do it thats like say put your hand in the fire and you wont get burnt...
i just found for me it helped and i smoked no cigerettes only the tabacco for burning my marijuana and only had 3 a day and tryed to cut that down too! as a normal smoker smokes 10-20 cigerettes a day i dont think that is that bad to have 3 joints a day 2 is better 1 for morning and 1 for nite...
and everyone has choices in life and will do what ever they want, even to a judgemental world..
but thanks for expressing your thoughts because everyone has rite to their own opinion...

thanks for the info and i agree if i had another child as im a bit more older and wiser now but it helped me get through my pregnancy at a tender age of 19 stop me stressing at everyone and calmed me rite down.. as i'm a hypo hunnie...
