bluesat2.2 autoflowering?
did anyone find any autoflowers in their bluesat 2.2?
i have them under 24/0 veg and im seeing male preflowers... but then they get bigger and almost look like they are opened, and either about to shoot pollen or already has... as i have a good amount of the seed(i love this strain) i decided to chunk it as i have some girls come in for 12 hours to share the room with the vegging mothers... so was this an autoflower... or do malepreflowers open in a way that looks open but isnt really until they go into 12/12? i always thought male preflowers were always going to look like closed balls... but this one was clearly open and another one was getting ready to.... thanks for ur help in advance, and so yall know im a huge sol and steve and bs2.2 fan so please dnt take this as im trying to cast doubt on the line... the bs2.2 is one of the best lines available and for one of the best prices on seedbay/bou |

Yeah, I had a male that auto flowered. Regardless of the 24 hour veg period and high nitrogen fertilizers, he threw out flowers and pollen. It was very disappointing considering he smelled nice and I wanted to make F3's.

I have three BS 2.2 females, one BBSativa dominant mutant and two very uniform bushes (hopefully SWT dom!) They are showing pre-flowers complete with pistils but haven't auto-flowered at all.
I have kept transplanting them into larger pots, as I believe I've read before that BS2.2 tend to auto-flower when rootbound. |

I had this experience with my BS 2.2. I discussed it with SOTF420 in his Sweet Tooth threads. His experience has been that this early flowering is triggered when root-space becomes tight. My plants were vegging in 18 oz beer cups. One male flowered real early, another soon after, and one waited till 12/12. The females also eventually flowered in the veg room. I was able to take clones of these flowering girls but they didn't really grow. Moved these girls into 32 oz containers but they still didn't grow. They then went into 1 gal containers and into 12/12. No stretch occurred but some are getting fat now.
I'll try to find SOTF's explanation of this. |

I had two out of my 4 BS 2.2 not only autoflower on me, but hermi also...full on balls aand buds hermi too. The plants were mildly rootbound for a few days but other than that they were in perfect health.
No light leaks either as there were about 10 other plants in the room with no problems. I loved the BS line overall. The first version was so different yet just as good if not better than the #2. All of them produced some of the finest quality hashish Ive seen as well. My favorites are the tart blue raspberry/blue jolly rancher smelling plants with the spear shaped buds. Its a nice pheno that Ive found in all of the releases and again makes killer hash ![]() hope u find something nice if u havce any girls left ![]() take care and stay safe guerilla |

I've grown out Blue Satellite 2.2 several times now, and never experienced any autoflowering. I use Smart Pots though, so that might be why?

This trait is inherited from the SPG and in the case of the Blue Sat 2.2 the Sweet Tooth father which comes from SPG and is mostly SPG because of the backcrosses to it. It's caused by tight rootspace although most males will preflower heavily very early regardless which makes finding them easy in veg so you can pull them if you are not making seeds. Generally the females show after the males or only once 12/12 starts on some.
Smartpots do help out greatly although they can still become rootbound in a smartpot eventually trust me I have done it. Hydro buckets will keep mothers in veg for a longer time although it's not as reliable as soil or coir for long term plant keeping, a quarterly root prune, big and then bigger then even bigger containers containers, light rich in the blue spectra instead of red, using superthrive on mothers regularly at a low dose or like 1/4 tsp per gal of water weekly. Keeping the lights on 24 hrs in veg and higher N levels for vegetative plants, these are all some ways to help prevent the autoflowering when the plant is rootbound or getting close to it. If you start seeds in a beer cup they should be tranplanted after the first 10 days into growth roughly because chances are it will be all full of roots if you have bright light & healthy plantlets. These plants that come from the Swt line have big extensive root systems and they do grow very deep & fast they will shoot right down to the bottom of 5 gal buckets in a few days from a beer cup sized transplant in high growth environments and the roots will be poking out of the drainholes looking for more space! ![]() All strains have a "weakness" and the SPG and her offspring and incrossed variations all inherited the ability to autoflower when rootbound which I believe is a plant survival mechanism and these plants just want to bloom very badly! Much love.

Am I correct to presume that this applies to Blubonic as well? Thanks in advance.

It would apply to any hybrid that uses the SPG genetics in their parents.
![]() I would tell you to ask Kootenay more about the Blubonic since it's his creation but I know he is not online much right now. I have heard of people having some autoflowering rootbound plants with that line but I don't think it's too common. Much love
