DF outdoor

Hey y'all here are my DF for 2011. i gave half of my seeds to a friend, and then germed half of the half that i had which left me with 3, of the 3 that i germed 2 of them sprouted not to bad for 7 year old seed. They both turned into females. :/ i was hopeing for a male so i could make some seed, but its all right. I found out theyre not sutied well for my climate, at lest the 2 that i have, i can't speak for all since its only 2. they stop growing after about 103 degrees and its been about 105 for the past 2 months with zero rain fall. Its been an extremely hot and dry year for us this year. 99% of our state is in a drought and some of the trees that have been around for a while are dieing. Now the weather is just starting to cool down, i hope they'll start growing again.

I hope you enjoy the pics i'll keep you updated as they develop.

Very nice Tex. Surprised they have slowed down on you. They're normally quite hardy like that. looking nice though. How long till your flowering season?
All the best with your grow.

hey tex ,,
thanks for sharing your pics man ,
amazingly dry out there ,
id say thatll be the reason for the probs ,
ive always found they liked reasonably moist conditions till flowering sets ,
id be tempted to put some newspaper and mulch on them to keep that moisture in ,
dont be shy about giving them plenty of manure ,
they respond well to heaps of food and water ...

Thanks Lovaduck. yea i'm really surprised they slowed down on me as well. one of the reasons i got DF was because of its heat tolerance, it could just be some fluke genetics. Its not to big i a deal though it normally is only like 100 around here. I really don't care though its such a unique plant its nice to see something different. They should start budding any day now, my Colombian gold males are just showing there sex so its should be soon.

Your welcome Donald. Its great to have you join! you, Kangativa, moonunit and bushweed are some of my favorite growers. i'm sooo sorry that your grow this past year didn't go so well. some of the pics of moonunits zoid were jaw dropping, i couldn't wait to see how all of yours would of turned out.
I wish you the best of luck this year!
thanks for the tip, i'll put some cow manure, newspaper and mulch around them. next year i'm definitely going to use some soaker hoses, i think they'll stay much happier.

yo yo, nice to see another duckfoot grow. your plants look really healthy.

everything Mallard. D said is true, they love the swamps. 10gallon smart pots are the way to go. plant and forget with this strain. only have to go to the spot 4-6 times. prep holes, plant clones and add snail/slug bait, go back a month later to stake them, go august 1st to clean out the bottoms and topdress heavy, harvest tops sept 15th; the rest sept 25th. ive tried other strains outdoors, but nothing compares to the duck, for a variety of reasons, including its stealthy-ness.

ive been growing the duck for about 12-13 years now, in northeastern ny. i believe it is the clone only that wally duck originally used in his seed line. now at first you might think i am talking out of my ass, but this clone has been going around my area since 1987, maybe longer. i first grew it in 97', but the dude i got it from had been growing it for ten years before that.

my duck is the most hardy of anything i have ever grown outside. never any mold or rot, and finishes super early. it'll grow to 6ft if put out june 15th as a 6" clone. starts flowering aug 1st-10th, and can be chopped as early as sept 10th, but is ideally chopped on sept 20th.

this may sound crazy, but i was told by the original grower that back in the early 90's it wasnt done until october 5th. he says every year it has been finishing earlier. this has been made possible i believe because he always revegges a plant in sept or takes clones late in aug. any input explaining this is welcome, anyone out there?

this is great for the people who have hundreds in multiple spots, because you can start harvesting it 9/10 and keep on trimming/harvesting straight through 10/10. i have had plants as heavy as 14oz each. a friend of mine, the dude i got it from originally, harvested 19 pounds from 44 plants in a guerrilla location. 10 gallon holes, generic corn ferts, 5-8 hrs of sunlight, harvested sept 15th. i helped him trim that harvest, back in 99. he was so happy he yielded that much i recieved an elbow for 4 days of trimming. shit, i was only 2 years out of high school, that was a lot of cash.

so long story short, the duckfoot is a guerrilla growers dream. i gave a few cuts to a couple members recently, and they are loving it.

and to make things clear to everyone, i really dont know the history of where Wally got his parent stock from; i would love to find out where his plant came from and if my timeline in any way coincides with his.

sounds earlier than i saw it ,
i think from sources and research ,
what i have came from hawaii ,
but prolly via a bit of australia first ,

it was crossed with some sativa ,
the orginal ducksfoot i had ,
or perhaps it was just a webbed leafed example of some sativa ,,
who knows really ???
given its a trait that can occur in cannabis ,
u dont need a particular strain to have the trait show ..

the name however is the same ,,
is that just cause it looks like the name ,,
or are they the same ..
many questions .. heheh ..

Yeah DM, you know my story, had seen the web (originating in FNQ), grown in SEQ for the first time in '93(?). Or was it the HWI, or the Strawberry Web, I don't know but it wasn't the red pistilled, super potent duck. Don't get me wrong, she was a pretty good smoke, but not the same plant as th WD Duckfoot.
I don't seem to have a problem with those temps, as long as the water is up to them. (100F = 37.5 C)
At the size they are, you should have a nice harvest, just feed em and water em...
