Exclamation Drug raid turns up $200,000 in pot plants

Been awhile since I've been online..
interestin story..
The marijuana plants were stacked waist-high in the driveway like a pile of weeds.

The heap represented the yield of an operation launched Friday by members of the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office, and it was the first of two raids that afternoon that targeted a suspected marijuana cultivator accused of growing in the Wilmington area.
Brian Barlow, 48, faces several drug charges, including marijuana trafficking, for what one official described as the top of a distribution enterprise that included sophisticated growing equipment, including complex ventilation systems that allowed his plants to reach maturity without the tell-tale scent of marijuana attracting attention from neighbors.
In all, 220 marijuana plants – worth a total of more than $200,000 – were seized during raids at 124 El Ogden Drive off Market Street and 116 Pine Clay Road.
"Most of the plants seized were mature plants ready to be harvested," Capt. D.A. Ciamillo, the commander of the county's vice and narcotics unit, said in a statement released to the media Friday night.
Ciamillo said information obtained from confidential informants led investigators to the grow houses. At the El Ogden Drive address, deputies pulled stalks out of rows of pots sitting in the garage and stacked the plants in the driveway to be collected as evidence. At the residence on Pine Clay Road, they found growing equipment from one end of the house to the other, Ciamillo said.
A second suspect, who was not named Friday, is expected to be charged in the "immediate future," the sheriff's office said.
