Where do I buy isopropanol?
Hi, gonna harvest one of my plants this weekend and was thinking of making hash from the trim. Now I'm wondering what stores here in Finland sells isopropanol?
And does it make any difference if some of the trim is still a bit damp when making the hash? I only have a limited window of time and I'm not sure all the trim will be completely dry when I'm making it. |

You can buy it from pharmacy but its very expensive.
When i searched this same stuff to buy,I did found only places that sells only big quantities and only then price is reasonable. Butaine or aceton, lot cheaper, but also higly dangerous substance. (?) I dont recommend to use these substances at all because the high risk, but if the place does have good ventilation there should not be a problem. Only thing that should remember is safety. Theres about month ot two when some nutcase exploded hes apartment and there was a child and his wife in same house,it was in the news and shit.

In Finland, Biltema sells "chemically pure, 100%" acetone for 5€ per liter. I'm not sure as to the absolute purity, but I've used it on numerous occasions for making hash oil and it's done the trick just fine, and when I've tested evaporating just the acetone, it hasn't left any residue, so it should be fine...

A lot of places will also have Sinol 100 (which is mostly ethanol) which is also manufactured by Berner Oy Automotive (just checked the bottle.) The nice thing about this is they are required to publish MSDS (material safety data sheet) which must list everything contained in the product. I've never made hash previously, but if you're not committed to using isopropyl alcohol, there are some other options. I assume when you make the hash the solvent is evaporated away, leaving behind the cannabinoids. In this case, just take a small sample of the solvent you're using and allow it to evaporate in a clear glass and be sure there is no residue left behind. Rinse the glass out once you're done! I hope that's some helpful info. :-) |

But is it just isopropanol and water? I wouldn't want any dangerous chemicals in my hashoil. I tried making oil from trim and fanleaves with technic acetone from K-rauta 2 weeks ago. I washed for 15 secs and the product didn't smell like cannabis at all even after drying outside for many hours.
