..now don't get excited... this has nothing to do with smoking gear!

It is VERY literally EXACTLY what it says...

The recent coldfront that swept into Texas brought some VERY frigid Canadian air down the plains and swept right through here last night. It went from a t-shirt day in the 70's on saturday to a frozen hell today that saw the low 20's last night...with a KILLING wind chill form the stiff north wind...

..naturally, I was concerned about a few exposed pipes I had to work on over the summer... so I went for the pipe insulation stuff at Home Depot...

GUESS WHAT they were all SOLD OUT OF??? ..yep... pipe insulation...

So I'm standing there muttering obscenities, while looking at the serveral empty and savaged boxes that USED to be full of the stuff... and I hear this guy behind me say... "Don't sweat it man... I'm a plumber. Just buy a box of baby diapers and a roll of tape... WORKS GREAT..no worries!"

..and you know what... HE WAS RIGHT!!!

...that's a new one for old unkle Hell's bag-o-tricks!!

Thats interesting! I sure hope the warm weather comes back soon. I'll have to remember that when i have to insulate some pipes.

Great Job!!! My neighbors pipes froze, Took them a day and a half to get his water back on.

thats a great idea HB........sorry to hear u guys had such ruff weather ....was -11F here on sat ....sort of makes 20 sound balmy ....:wink:

...what makes it so bad here, is the fact that a really good hard freeze is pretty rare... when it DOES happen... us Texans run around like a bunch of newbs trying to figure out what to do next!!

... old hat to you Yankee types... (*Yawn..* <<< yankees reaction to COLD weather!! LOL!!)

..yeah... when I was just a lad we used to talk about those DAMN yankees from WAYYYYY up north... around MEMPHIS!!

hb ... just moved up here last summer from the sunny south west ...am i crazy or what ? ......so yes i fully understand that u r unprepared for that kind of cold ....if we built houses up here like they do down south we would be in deep do do when winter came rolling around .....
