Yawn. More sweet tooth
Hey SOFT and you zealots! Wanted to put up some pics of my Sweettooth plants.
I was on FFF (forced family fun) aka vacation when the first seed drop hit the bou. Was a bit stressful running my 'puter over my cell phone to buy them. But got her done. Then had to endure the rest of the trip knowing they were sitting in my mailbox waiting for me. Ran the seedlings in a mix of coco and rice hulls. Transplanted into straight coco. Nutrients are Silica, Cal-mag +, Maxibloom, Maxigro and Potash. Soaked them on 6/25 and 10/10 popped. I think I could hear them tapping on the inside of the shell trying to get out.. Stuck them in coco and dealt with a pretty standard yellowing issue when I run seeds in coco. These plants are little nutrient piggies. I was afraid of burning them and ended up hitting them with full strength nutes to halt the slight yellowing. Yesterday I watered them with plain water and one is already asking for magnesium. I cannot believe how thick the stems are on these. I like to grow Casey Jones so to see a 10" tall plant with a stem thicker than a pencil is interesting. Onto the pics! 12 days since soaking. Sweettooth on the top. BOG Lifesaver on the bottom. Hmmm. Sweet saver, Life tooth, Sweet life, Tooth saver. We shall see. I'll probably make some ST seeds for salad goodness. Two days later. Different view 22 days since soak. You can see a little yellow on the ends of a couple of the 3 petal leaves. Seems to be sorted out at the moment. How'd that get in here? Casey Jones is such a camera whore. SOFT, ever seen this? I've never seen this before. If you look closely, you will see that the branches are not coming out where the node is. It is very apparent on the right plant. This is on a few of the STs. I don't believe it is environment as none of the Lifesavers are showing this. 22 days in 7-17. ST on the left This is how you transplant 20 plants in two minutes. I'm sure I picked this up here. 31 days in. A couple of plants are starting to show their sexy parts. I'll loupe them when their units are a little bigger. Not sure where I'm going at this point. I'll clone them all. Males can chill in a 150W HPS cabinet I have. Pretty sure I am going to top them way back to clone them. Can't decide if I am going to cut them back to two nodes and run with 4 colas or put the clones into flower and single cola them. I've seen some pretty exciting pictures of single cola ST grows. |

dgr nice thread & pics brother!
![]() Good to see those healthy Sweeties chugging along with some lifesaver too! There surely could be some very interesting combinations there in the near future I agree. ![]() They do love their MG too, find myself saying that all the time. They are totally Magnesium hogs. ![]() Yes I have seen the branch nodes coming out of the side of stems before it has shown up on some random Swt plants here and there that ended up having nice strong budsets later on so they have never been removed from any populations it never seemed to hurt anything at all and I thought it was pretty cool and novel. Some of my best females have had this trait which I have recently nicknamed the "wishbone" stems. I have seen this in some of the first generations of the Swt #4 x Bb/Swt Sk also so it seems to come from the original grapefruity Sweet Tooth #4 P1 males pollen input genetically speaking and could very well have some influence from the Blueberry genes contained within. The big stud candy GF male did not show this trait nor did the other 2 males used this generation but it's kind of nice to see it showing up again because I know those plants are expressing those genetics that came from that original P1 Sweet Tooth pollen and that is a very good sign. Anyways, really nice pics so far dgr & I have a feeling you are going to have some really Toothy results. ![]() You are well on your way to some magical frosty grapefruity goodness! Please keep us updated!

Man am I a slacker!
Here's some recent pics. First one on 7/25. They're all lined up for a hair cut. Epic fail on the cloning this go around in coco. I think I got 3/20 strikes. Most stem rotted in three days. But, I cut some new clones yesterday and put them in rockwool. I'll probably throw some in an aero cloner just to be sure. I have five tentatively sexed. Can't find my good scope. I think this one is a male. What do you guys think? Here are the ladies from 8/8. It's hot. I had to raise the 400W HPS due to some leaf curl and it's still 81 degrees. They stretched a bit. At the moment, I have a 1000W to hang but I can't cool it :( If this Casey would ever finish, that would give me some room. I might just rip out some plants that are only a week in flower if I KNEW my clones were going to strike. They chilled on a bread and water, hold the bread, diet for three days. They say starving clones root faster. It's crazy how fast the bottoms start yellowing. |

Forgot to add my sniff test. Preface: My sense of smell sucks.
All 10 are smelling great! There are three primary smells I can pick out. Chemmy, sugar and an industrial grapefruit smell. I'd say number 7 is the best GF smell so far close with number 10. Number 5 also has a good GF smell with a definite chemmy undertone. |

You really seem to have things well organized brother! The plants look great, don't worry about a little heat stretch 81F ain't bad at all they tolerate up to about 85F pretty well although in flower it would affect bud density possibly. They love to eat there is not a doubt, and they need extra Mg they are mag hogs. I have given lighter colored plants a good strong cal/mag dose and they turn dark green everytime in a few days so don't be afraid to give them some juice because they grow fast and they just love it

I was wondering when you say "chemmy" do you mean like chemdog "chemmy" or what exactly? People say chemmy and that can mean alot of things I guess like a chemmy cleaner smell is the other thing I am thinking here thats what you probably are talking about right? I'm not the best with smells either though myself but I sure know that grapefruity acrid citrus peel aroma when I smell it! If you are getting that candy sugar GF smell on some of them that came from their daddy that is exactly how he smelled ![]() Outstanding thread dgr & really nice pics in here! ![]() Keep it Grapefruity! (you already are)
