Possible NFT system and some questions :D
Hello, im so tired of having to clean my bedroom so much because of the dirt that i decided to go half organic hydro
! Here's what i've build: 70*35*11 cm still missing white paint, rubber to cover the gaps from light and choose between NFT and ebb&flow (NFT winning). ![]() Im going to (try) do it perpetual and i'll be using local ferts with this numbers (excluding NPK): Boron: 0,02% Copper: 0,01% iron: 0,02% Manganese: 0,01% molybdenum: 0,005% Zinc: 0,005%, plus homemade seaweed fertilizer. Will this be enough to control the micro nutrients deficiencies or should i add something more?

ebb & flo is proven to work with organic hydro. NFT is not that popular for whatever reasons.
personally, with your semi-organic hydro... i would root-feed all NPK/micro and foliar anything else (your home-made seaweed). and technically, you are doing an all chem grow with an "organic" additive. |

You can add some organics in an NFT system but your plants need to be well rooted and you must have precise control over water temps. Also, in general, avoid any sea-borne organics and anything that can cause microbial "blooms", such as bacterial or algae blooms, as they usually drowned out the diversity in a constantly recirculating hydro system. I would avoid any seaweed/kelp or fish based products, as little bits of algae sneak in there and will wreck havoc on your roots. Avoid molasses or strong simple sugars, as they will only feed the most basic bacteria that can survive, and those will take over and reduce diversity. If you really want to use sugars, brew them in a diluted solution for 24-48 hours before adding to your rez. IMHO, the best organic additives for hydro are clean filtered teas, i.e. compost teas, AACT, EWC teas, & guano teas. Use enzymes to break down dead roots and organic matter, and that is plenty to feed your beneficials. Also, do as few rez changes as possible, as they hamper the microbial colonies in hydro, since those colonies take a while (5-10 days) to get established.

Oh, and I don't see any Calcium or Magnesium on your nutrient profile. Is it included in your NPK Grow/Bloom formulations? If not, you will need to supplement.

what can i use to replace the nutes in flowering stage? will worms castings and bat guano be enough to flower a healty plant? I mention those ferts because i dunno what i should use instead of it. My idea is to root cuts and add them to the flowering closet... for Mg i can add epsom salt and for Cal i would be adding egg shells, oyster shells.
