Sour Dog

Sour Dog is an off-shoot of the Lime Rush project, and consists of Lime Rush (m) x New Your Power Diesel (f).

I was enjoying growing chemdog x sour diesel, but noticed the head bud would fold over from the weight. Staking didn't help, as it woould fold the mainstem above where it was tied.

So I decided to grow out a number of f2's and select for thicker stems. 2 of these phenos were then dusted with the cd x sd f1 pollen.

At the same time, I was also growing New York Power Diesel. One pheno had a particularly strong lemon smell that carried over into the cured bud. It also had a great structure, so I dusted the lemon pheno with the cd x sd pollen. The goal was to have an extremely potent, extremey lemoney smelling and tasting cross.

While the resulting cross does have a nice citrus aroma, it turned out to be a heavy yielder. The pics shown here are compliments of fellow ICM'er Maj. Cottonmouth. His LST done on a Sour Dog yielded over an elbow of dry weight. Congrats Major!

We've been led to believe that lots of variation in a cross is a good thing, because some vendors would rather you buy several packs of their gear, instead of them actually doing the selections to fix that nag champa or golden clit trait themselves. For hobby growers, pheno hunting is fun. But mono-croppers who grow to pay the bills prefer a consistent product that regularly delivers the desired trait package.

Thanks Yort! I fucked up... the bay will be releasing sour dog and abusive dog, not alien double dog... this one red wanted to give away and not sell, because he thinks it's "too deadly for the public" lol. Definately the cure for insomnia...
