Got a pack of the Sour D IBL release from 2010.....popped 10 and got 8 females 2 males so nice ratios! alot of the phenos i was certain were male turned out to be females...


so a few notes...i am noticing that some of them stretch alot while others like to stay short. after a 2 month veg under CFL 2 or 3 got up to 2-3 feet tall..while others barely got above 1ft.


also, the ones that got super tall are LAGGING in terms of bud production. im running her right next to SFV og and cherry pie, which are both low yeilding strains, at at 1 month the sour D barely looks like 2 weeks old.

the shorter sours are producing larger buds and are somewhat caught up to the OGs and cherrys, all were flipped at the same time and are being grown the same way. fox farms soil in 2-3 gal pots..

il post some pics up later if yall are interested....is this normal for Sour D to take a longer time to develop those nuggets?

I seemta notice that too on my cut. She doesn't get fat till the endish. At two weeks shes 2.5x stretched or greater, then comes the pistil action...

...I didnt getta select the pheno; I know its not THEE BEST, but its still SD and still rocks. [One day Ill snaga new pack of SD beans and look fora newer keeper.

Well, most will concur that your looking at about 11 weeks w/ the SourD IBL. So she's gonna take a lil bit longer to finish than your others and from what I've read online, she really likes to swell up at the end of flower. Sounds like more and more reports of these "non-stretchy" phenos are coming out...where are these squat phenos coming from (genetically)? Even the NYCD has a decent stretch on her "diesel" phenos. Sounds like you found my females too...just popped the rest of my pack after getting 5/5 males in the 1st attempt...will be keeping them around for some f2's though. Bring on the pics if ya got em'.

im sure it will be awesome weed but no keepers here...with high california electric rates and crashing bud prices its not economically feasible to grow 11 week sour when 8-9 week OG kush sells for same price..

the sour nugs have decent size, but there its still mostly pistil action, where as on the others there is already frosty calyxs forming and smelling like flower plants too....i have absolutely zero sour D smell on any of the IBLs even after rubbing the stem just smells like a plant....hoping for the best here, im down to take her to 11 weeks if need be because shes in the genetics testing section of my room...cash cropping the OG to pay off the room...

My sour doesn't really do much until about the 4th week. From week 4 on it starts to get swollen. Around week 9 it looks to fill in a bit more. I agree that with the situation out here an 11 week sour is not feasible. Below are some pics of my Sour. It's an unknown cut, but I love it. I've seen some that were chunkier, but lacked the smell. The frost on this one is very nice as well.

One of my 4SD's doesn't stretch very much either, but it does get chunky as hell. Very nice bag appeal as well.

watch out for the late bloomers !!! some of my DSDs were late bloomers and shocked
me how much weight and funk came in the end i have
learned never judge a book by its cover, i am now a beleiver
when it comes to ugly ducklins and late bloomers.
just poped 20 MOSCA NEGRA C99, i will not cull any pheno
until it has multipul runs, its pretty painful loseing something

Not sure i should even share, but decided to because others should not get there expectations to high on the recent SDibl release.....not sure what has happened to the SD over the years, but this winter representation aint it.......not saying there arn't some sour phenos to be found...i just didn't find um....


I've grown the ECSD cut from rez & the ECSDv3(my all time fav).....& was expecting to catch a killer pheno from the winter release.....didn't happen.......i did on the other hand find a shorty' pheno that yeilds through the roof & has an SD bud structure, just not a proper sour smell/high....again not tryn to be a hater...just sharing my experience....

edit: the taller phenos i got were a bit closer to sour dominant, just didn't have the full on sour smell..

that fuckin sucks. have 2 packs of sour ibl veggin from the winter release...

Looking good. Sour D doesn't bulk up usually til after 5 weeks of flowering. Then it puts on the turbo boosters and develops the smell and funk that made it so famous.
