An idea for soil growers

Here's an idea for soil growers with large yeilding plants that tend to snap branches. It grows plants upside down. no weight on the stems and you would move the plant not the light so there would be no problem with plants of differant sizes.

https://www.gardengatemagazine.com/tips/39tip5.html

and

I have'nt been a soil grower in quite a few years but I might try this one (maybe). But I thought it would stir the mind.

That's interesting. I've seen this on tomatoes and such, but never on herb. Are you going to try it and show us?

waste of time imo... with lights needing to be ground level this method gives growers two serious problems.
1. Rising heat
2. Water dripping from bucket onto lights.

Neither of the above is good for plant growth.
1. Rising heat could fry plant to death
2. Water & electric is not a good mix... fire has obvious disadvantages to growing healthy plants

If this was meant for outdoors then i apologise.

Crazy, EHP: I have a box in the planning I'm looking at having the lights mounted on a sliding tray on the floor with a sheet of glass over the entire floor sealed to the sides of the box. This would prevent any moisture from getting to the lights as well as allowing for forced air cooling of the lights. Originaly I was designing it to add more lighting to the bottom of the plants. At this time I have the same set up on the walls as well as lighting from above (a box within a box, lighting from all sides). The hanging plant was an after thought that I found on the net. I have a 4x8 sheet of glass thats used for making glass stair treads solid enough to walk on.
As you can see I have alot time on my hands to play.

lights can be hung next to plants, so that's not really an issue. As a matter of fact, many argue that lights hung next to (amongst the plants) plants (no hood) are more effective than above them. I have to agree, if the bulb is effectively surrounded by plants.

This is entirely feasible IMHO. Just doesn't seem to have clear advantages as far as I can tell. Be interesting to see someone do it though, cause you never can tell until it's being done.

I can see this being very beneficial to outdoor growers. Toss a rope over a nice tree limb, hoist up the plants, secure/camo. the rope and there ya go. As the plant grows back up around the bucket it conceals it. Hoisting plants up/down for watering may be a pain, but easier than climbing a tree. I see getting the rope over the limb being the major accomplishment, and wonder how many times trying to throw a rock w/ a rope tied around it over a limb 20Ft. in the air it will take before somebody gets knocked out

Didn't work for me with tomatoes.

So not going to try it with weed. Kind of goes against the 'norm'.
